It bothers me, with my OCD tendencies. I'd like to sweep through the boards tidying them all away into their proper places Blush

But, more seriously, what really bothers me is that there is a type of poster who only posts in AIBU, and who doesn't know there's anywhere else on MN.

Then there are the other posters who do the same, but who also think that the whole argy bargy of it means that they can jump in and have a go at anyone - regardless of the original OP or question. I've seen some shocking things said to other posters there, and then posters justifying their unpleasantness by saying "well, this is AIBU, what do you expect?"

SuePurblybilt · 29/07/2012 17:40

YY to BIWI.

Will we bombard MNHQ with reports? Or I may suggest they get a work experience person/summer intern to sit and move every thread saying 'AIBU to post this here/I need a wide audience/need a fast response/have never left AIBU' to the right topic.

Apparently it takes ten weeks to break a habit Grin

Trills · 29/07/2012 17:40

YABU, of course.

HTH :)

Trills · 29/07/2012 17:41

Shouldn't this be in Site Stuff? :o

MardySkimpyBeachVolleyballBra · 29/07/2012 17:42
Grin

Nobody would see it in Site Stuff. Wink

usualsuspect · 29/07/2012 17:44

Site stuff gets a lot of traffic, some of the best bun fights threads are in site stuff.

Trills · 29/07/2012 17:45

DO none of you lot use Active Convos then?

piratecat · 29/07/2012 17:46

someone else started a thread like this in here the other day op.

who gives a toss really. i found alot of help here for my very poorly dd the other week.

usualsuspect · 29/07/2012 17:47

I use active convos all the time.

Threads I've stuck my oar in I'm on
Then Active convos.

Trills · 29/07/2012 17:48

Exactly usual - that's how it should be done!

TeamGBIWI · 29/07/2012 17:48

I use either Active Convos or Threads I'm On - depending how many threads I'm on/have to catch up on.

I've given up posting 'shouldn't this be in XXX" but I do still report some of the worst offenders to MNHQ.

MardySkimpyBeachVolleyballBra · 29/07/2012 17:48

That was tongue in cheek usual. Poor attempt at irony lost on a screen again.

BIWI! Love it! :o

SuePurblybilt · 29/07/2012 17:49

I use active (though have AIBU hidden, I'm only here if I get drawn in) and TIO. Not sure why that makes a difference though? Either you like things in their proper place or you're not bothered.

usualsuspect · 29/07/2012 17:50

But most of Active convos is AIBU.

Which is why no one answers threads that are in the correct place. If more people used the correct topics more would appear in active convos and get answered.

sensuallettuce · 29/07/2012 17:53

I think if it bothers you then you clearly spend far too much time on MN.

HTH.

usualsuspect · 29/07/2012 17:54

Standard answers.

Trills · 29/07/2012 17:54

Be a part of the solution, not a part of the problem. :)

MardySkimpyBeachVolleyballBra · 29/07/2012 17:54

I'm very glad you got help for your dd piratecat. You're right - there should be some exceptions. It's more the general chatty or product specific stuff I'm talking about, like "Recommend me a high chair" or something

Yes, I also mainly use Active/Threads I'm On. Sometimes Aibu to see if any bunfights are emerging. The great thing about Active is you can hide all the dull topics that are of no interest. That's why I feel pissy when they pop up elsewhere.

OP posts:
MardySkimpyBeachVolleyballBra · 29/07/2012 17:55

How did you find this thread then Sue?

OP posts:
MardySkimpyBeachVolleyballBra · 29/07/2012 17:56

sensual. I'm not spending enough time on MN as I didn't realise that this had been debated recently!

OP posts:
MardySkimpyBeachVolleyballBra · 29/07/2012 17:57

But if variations of this thread pop up time after time, then obviously it is a very irksome issue and therefore IANBU. [logical]

OP posts:
Trills · 29/07/2012 17:59

Your title asks if YABU to post in AIBU for more traffic - on that question YABU.

If your question is "AIBU to get annoyed at people posting in AIBU when they are not actually asking if they are being unreasonable?" than YANBU

SuePurblybilt · 29/07/2012 18:00

I was on another thread in AIBU Mardy, Chaos' roots I think, and clicked the topic bar instead of active/TIO. Then I'm nosy Grin
Or sometimes I see them in the most active box and come for a look, as I did with Chaos' one.

But I had it hidden as the bunfighty element was depressing me and the dogged nature of some of the posts were a bit wearing. I think there are posters in Aibu who only post here and will be at a thread, or a poster, like a dog with a bone. Winning every argument by sheer persistence. It got a bit wearing.

MardySkimpyBeachVolleyballBra · 29/07/2012 18:03

Ah, but Aibu to post an Aibu about Aibus in Aibu to get more traffic? Grin
