So Grant Bovey has apparently done the dirty and she's kicked him out. On the one hand, I feel sorry for any person whose relationship is in tatters for any reason, particularly infidelity as it tears you apart.

My first husband cheated on me with my closest friend (her DH was also ex H closest 'friend'. It was absolutely the worst time of my life, I was devastated to think that the two people I loved and trusted so much would do this and it took me a long time to get over it. I felt stupid, humuliated and above all empty and I thought I would never be happy again. They went ahead to marry and 8 years later they divorced because she had an affair, I found it hard to care at all.

I think I am normally quite a nice person so I don't enjoy others' misery but I am finding it hard to sympathise with Anthea given what their history together is. I'm being horrible aren't I? I suspect I am.

Not having any sympathy for her is one thing, but those that are positively gleeful that this has happened to her clearly don't understand the concept of karma.

I feel sad for her that this has happened. His kids seem to be supporting her, so she can't be all bad.

jellybeans · 29/07/2012 14:23

YANBU. Serves her right. She got involved with a married man with young children. Novelty always wears off though. I hope she now realises what she did to the poor ex wife. At least she doesn't have to explain to children where their daddy has gone..

thekidsrule · 29/07/2012 15:26

NO smpathy at all to anthea

all them things they to have done over the years to many many people, grant and antheas time has finally come

cheating on both sets of partners

numerous bankrupt sagas

numerous "new" buisnesses

alot of ordinary people have been burnt by these two in many ways,so no not a jot of sadness hearing this

id of thought their as bad as each other and were made for each other, vile couple

TangoSierra · 29/07/2012 15:29

Let's face it, it was always going to happen. And was a 'matter of time'

Abolutely no sympathies from here.

highlandcoo · 29/07/2012 15:36

Kennyp, it was Peter Powell not Bruno brooks ( asking myself why I know these things ... )

thekidsrule · 29/07/2012 15:38

every tabloid is gonna serialise "Antheas pain over betrayl" type tripe in the next few weeks

sensuallettuce · 29/07/2012 15:41

She was with Brookes before Powell - she married Powell.

Blush

Brookes was physically abusive apparently.

All I know is that she made a mean Tracey Island when I was a kid...We talked about it in school for weeks and weeks. God bless her for that.

Kennyp · 29/07/2012 15:57

She met bruno brookes first and then when she was dating bruno when he was at radio 1 she met p powell in a lift and then left brookes for powell, and then left powell for bovey.

She must swallow every single time. She is well in demand

Latara · 29/07/2012 16:01

I do feel sorry for Anthea Turner tbh.
She can be annoying; yes she 'stole' him from his ex-wife which was wrong. At that time i felt sorry for the ex-wife too.
The harsh reality is that a lot of relationships do have similarly messy beginnings.
It's very hurtful for the partner who was cheated on; but when they have children then attempting to forgive then move on & remain civil is the best thing to do.
(I only say it because there has been a lot of hurt caused by my late grandparents' divorce due to an affair & remarriage; the family divisions lasted for years & caused so much bitterness. In mine & my cousins' opinions; life really is too short to remain bitter & unforgiving for years.)

I agree Grant Bovey is not a nice guy; hope both his first wife & Anthea Turner realise that they've had a lucky escape now they have both seen his true colours.
Glad to hear that his children have remained supportive & friendly towards Anthea.

I want to know who this 24 year old is and what the attraction is Confused.

OlympicRelay · 29/07/2012 16:10

The 24 year old is probably a friend of Grants dd's, he has form to go for family friends, makes for lots of drama.

GetOrfMoiIand · 29/07/2012 16:11

If his children are still friendly with her she can't be that bad.

I don't think very highly of the woman, but do feel sorry for her. Bloody hell he seems like a ghastly man. I agree with laurie who said what on earth did two seemingly intelligent and attractive women see in this bounder?

Whatever she did in the past and how annoyiing she seems to be, she seems to have tried to prop him up financially in recent times and he has repayed her loyalty by having an affair with a woman 26 years younger than he is.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 29/07/2012 16:12

What slacksally said... and, if you believe in karma as some people keep spouting, it comes to call on the schadenfreuders too... just saying.

Kennyp · 29/07/2012 16:13

She has still got that tracey island and is ego'd up to the eyeballs that it is the most popular thing ever made on blue peter. She keeps the T.I. In her memory box, no euphemism.

IMO anthea was exasctly in resl life the way she was portrayed by the press.

i think you may be onto something there Grin

Viperidae · 29/07/2012 16:20

I still feel sorry for her despite everything. Previous twattish behaviour does not mean she hurts less than anyone else would.

sensuallettuce · 29/07/2012 16:31

GetorfMoiland

Thank you, you have made my day for using the word "bounder" Grin

TheCrackFox · 29/07/2012 16:32

I feel sorry for her, her career was destroyed so she could be with him. He seems like a complete creep.

MaryHansack · 29/07/2012 16:43

AT is vile. Any woman who thinks she can build a happy family out of the ruins of one she has helped destroy is deluded.

EnjoyResponsibly · 29/07/2012 16:45

I'm betting Della Bovey has the champagne on ice.

As for Anthea and Grant, it couldn't have happened to a nicer pair of alley cats.

scaredymcnamechange · 29/07/2012 16:54

'bounder' Grin

Jemma1111 · 29/07/2012 17:09

Do you think she'll be making anymore of those 'how to be the perfect housewife' programmes ?

Hmm
OlympicRelay · 29/07/2012 17:17

It just goes to show you can be the perfect housewife, host, creative, artistic, socialiser, Stepmother, have a great figure, bail your man out financially etc and still a Man will justify cheating.

FalseStartered · 29/07/2012 17:21

perhaps she should have folded his shirts properly?
