Why does the queen never wear a crown?

Just what it says in the title really

I know security reasons and all that but this is the Olympics the most secure event London is holding surely she could manage a crown or at least a tiara at least make a effort your majesty

I would settle for a tiara or even if she wore some of the crown jewels in her hair (yes i know it would be tacky and yes i know its not practical but you all know you would if you could)

The queen has more than one crown they cant all be as heavy as each other and if they are we should get her a lighter one and so she can wear it more

this whole thread is dedicated to my daughter who thinks the queen has misplaced it somewhere because she has a big big house and thats why she doesnt wear because if you had something that pretty you would always wear it apparently

Well done your dd savlon. I think she's hit the nail on the head there. That's exactly why you wouldn't wear a crown.

I think she can be found of a morning in her undies in front of Jeremy Kyle rocking the crown, Phillip is also there in some y-fronts scratching his crown jewels, they like to mock the commoners I bet.

Now have a mental picture of queen with delicate gonads in her hair!

I bet Phils crown jewels had plenty of attention after he was standing to attention on the boat during the jubilee.

remind your Dd that the Queen has more than one crown
they are very pretty and sparkly
one she keeps in the Tower down there in London so lots of people can go see it
but she keeps the crown of Scotland in Edinburgh Castle again its on display for lots of people to go see

So savlon maybe the queen cant decide which crown to wear
she doesnt want to play favourites so doesnt wear either

If my daughter knew the crown was locked up somewhere she would want to go and try it on because you have to share (god help me for teaching her everyone has to share it shall be the death of me)

I have been thinking since she doesnt seem to like her crowns i am all for taking them off her hands or taking the Koh i noor out of one and just having that lol

If she cant pick favourites she should give them all to me apart from one and then she wouldnt have to pick favourites and she could wear it more often !

Honestly? Crowns are heavy, fecking uncomfortable and make your headache. That's probably why she didn't wear one. Aside from the obvious it would have fallen off when she parachuted out of the helicopter (loved that bit btw) frankly she's an old lady, re the shoes, perhaps her feet are swollen and the black ones are the only ones she can wear comfortably at the moment? she may need help standing up, which she probably doesn't want or need the entire nation to know. And tbh, does she really need to wear a crown? She's the bloody queen, we all know who she is! It's not like we never see her face and she needs to wear one so we all know who she is!
Ffs cut the poor woman some slack for once, yes she could have shown a little more interested when team gb rolled up, but she was probably cringing inwardly at their outfits, or maybe she really needed a wee! She is human you know.
