Just what it says in the title really

I know security reasons and all that but this is the Olympics the most secure event London is holding surely she could manage a crown or at least a tiara at least make a effort your majesty

how about a sceptre as well? and a big fur cloak with corgis holding up the train Wink
my dd genuinely thought she was about to parachute in I had to explain to her why that would not be happening Grin

GnocchiNineDoors · 27/07/2012 23:19

Oh, and apparently she also refuses to wear her paper crown out of her christmas cracker.

Maybe she has a phobia.

savlonqueen · 27/07/2012 23:23

I think just off the top of my head the queen should wear a crown for the olympics (when we host), royal weddings, Jubilees, any major events we host (e.g world cups ect), opening parliament, major official duties and any other major national events

It does not always have to be a full on crown i would happily settle for a tiara or if she held or juggled the crown jewels during these events :)

She could just get a pretendy one from Claire's Accessories for stuff like this though, surely?

But she'll have to start a thread about how she hoiked her judgey pants up at all the babies getting their ears pierced Grin

hellsbells99 · 27/07/2012 23:24

I think she should just try smiling!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/07/2012 23:25

I'd have settled for her not wearing black shoes ,bag and gloves with that peach outfit Confused

Same with the Jubilee ( cream with black) and the tour of Australia (yellow with black)

(Is that treason to say)

I love this :)

"AIBU to think that one shouldn't need to wear full regalia in order to be recognised when one is, in fact, the leader of the commonwealth?"

I've already said she wears the Imperial Crown for the state opening of Parliament. The others are ridiculous. A crown in a football stadium: WTAF?

Queenofsiburbia · 27/07/2012 23:31

I agree, what are they for if she doesn't wear them?!

Get your kit ON your majesty!

Unacceptable · 27/07/2012 23:31

Ihaveafeaturewall beat me to it...gotta love Peppa pig!

savlonqueen · 27/07/2012 23:37

I just think wear it show it to everyone when you are doing major events or there national events as the queen she is pretty much the only one who can get away with wearing a crown and frankly id wear one everywhere even in the bath!

Don't keep it under lock and key show it off after all everyone always associates a queen with a crown or tiara and she barely makes the effort!
I bet she has put a tiara or a crown on a corgi or a horse just once though for a giggle

Hmm

I don't: given that crown wearing is reserved for state occasions.

Anything else would be pretty vulgar IMO. I thought that the notion of wearing a crown all the time was something little girls grow out of when they're about 6.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/07/2012 23:57

The camera was on her when Team GB came out and she was sat picking her fingernails.

Keeping you up eh?

Inneedofbrandy · 28/07/2012 00:04

And me bigkidsdidit

Inneedofbrandy · 28/07/2012 00:06

I would be as vulgar as I could if I can ever bump wills and kate off and marry Harry. Harry is the only royal I like and we would have a blast raving in china whites all night and cocktails on our humongous boat in the day with my bikini made out of emeralds. Grin

savlonqueen · 28/07/2012 00:07

70isaLimitNotaTarget i know thats what i just thought and then when the camera went back she was staring at the ground and the final time it went to her the entire rest of the box was standing up and celebrating ( i mean even cameron was dancing a bit) and her and prince phillph were sitting there looking miserable

Thats what annoys me at least smile if you are crownless

Yeah all that gold and diamonds would be heavy but maybe a wee paper one like at Xmas...
though I think they've stretched her tolerance by getting her to talk to Mr Bond then parachute into arena wearing that salmon pink outfit
now even a salmon doesnt look very lively when its that colour

ratspeaker · 28/07/2012 00:09

Oh if I had a crown like that... < dreams >

I'd be down at cash for gold quicker than Bolt

BlueMoon1084 · 28/07/2012 00:09

major events we host (e.g world cups ect),

I now have a mental image of the Queen sitting in front of a TV wearing a crown and yelling 'are you blind?' at the ref.

MrsJREwing · 28/07/2012 00:12

QUEEN Vic had that light small crown, Liz could wear that or a little tiara?

savlonqueen · 28/07/2012 00:13

Im telling you if you all had that crown you would wear it everywhere no matter how heavy it is you would not want to take it off unless you were giving it to cash for gold :P

BlueMoon1084 could you imagine how funny that would be to see her do that

OP posts:
lovebunny · 28/07/2012 00:14

surely its not beyond the technical skills of our nation to make our elderly queen a comfortable crown?

ilovesooty · 28/07/2012 00:15

I daresay some of you think she ought to wear one when she goes to the races, and to church on Christmas morning, and when she delivers the Christmas speech to the nation...
