Loving it.
Abide with me was beautiful and haunting. The beginning was 'Wow'. James Bond and the Queen- what a giggle.
They all need to walk a bit faster now though.... running music!!

Let Me Google That For You

Worth a click even if you know who he is. Grin

Pagwatch · 27/07/2012 23:18

Who is Danny Boyle?

Seriously. Google or the news or any kind of awareness of the news/media will usually help with such complex questions.

I have a 9 year old who knows who he is. She isn't that bright really but she knows.

Debeez · 27/07/2012 23:19

Try my link Pag Grin

The amount of times I've wanted to use it on this site. Seriously.

confusedpixie · 27/07/2012 23:20

RE the camera's: Because it just seems rude, people want to cheer them on, individually and as countries, they can't be cheered individually if we cant see their faces thanks to the cameras Confused It also feels rude and unprofessional to me, I'm not sure why!

KarlosKKrinkelbeim · 27/07/2012 23:21

So knowledge of popular culture is a measure of how bright you are now, is it?
What a strange notion.

Cityofgold · 27/07/2012 23:21

So a celebration of British Culture consists of one celebrity appearance after another to appease the masses (and i dont recall any other OC having to rely upon that). Sounds about right.

Pagwatch · 27/07/2012 23:22

Grin thank you. Most educational.

Nancy66 · 27/07/2012 23:22

camera thing annoys me a bit too - but pretty common these days.
Whenever teams do that victory through the town on a bus thing - like Chelsea did after winning Champion's League - they are always on their camera phones.

Pagwatch · 27/07/2012 23:23

I think a capacity to google is probably a reasonable measure of how bright you are.

usualsuspect · 27/07/2012 23:24

A celebration of London culture to be precise.

JeezyPeeps · 27/07/2012 23:24

Knowledge of how to use the Internet for research is fairly basic these days I would have thought.

Debeez · 27/07/2012 23:24

"and i dont recall any other OC having to rely upon that" Would you have recognised many actors or actresses from China? I know Brit and American Actors and that's about it. They could have had the cast of Big Brother China on there and I wouldn't have known, doubt our commentary would have mentioned it either as it's not relevant to us, it not being our pop culture.

usualsuspect · 27/07/2012 23:24

Whens Cliff coming on then?

bigkidsdidit · 27/07/2012 23:25

Sydney had Kylie Grin

Pagwatch · 27/07/2012 23:26

The phone thing is very odd. Look at what I could see when the world was looking at me...
But people video and photograph every experience now I guess.

CarlaBruni · 27/07/2012 23:26

Oh just look him up and stop being so pompous

TheDreadedFoosa · 27/07/2012 23:27

Love it! Its been fab Torch

Pagwatch · 27/07/2012 23:28

Dd is hoping that harry potter or dr who will light the flame. I think she is going to be disappointed.

KarlosKKrinkelbeim · 27/07/2012 23:29

Blimey. I didn't realise asking people rather than the internet was such a faux pas these days. Modern manners, eh?

FlatCapAndAWhippet · 27/07/2012 23:30

Loving it Torch

Kellamity · 27/07/2012 23:30

I think it's been an outstanding OC, we have a lot to be proud of - well I feel proud and patriotic anyway Smile

bigkidsdidit · 27/07/2012 23:31

Ooh the flame could shoot out of Harry's wand

WonaLotteofMedals · 27/07/2012 23:31

The drummer's arms must be getting very tired now!

JeezyPeeps · 27/07/2012 23:32

Laziness has never been a desired quality.

Why do something for yourself when you can get someone else to do it for you, huh?
