How can people be so negativeAngry

Celebrate the history of our country and enjoy the moment.

Nanny0gg · 27/07/2012 22:25

Can't believe the athletes are taking photos and videos as they parade around!

plutocrap · 27/07/2012 22:26

Someone chomping on chewing gum in the opening ceremony!! Shock

Pooka · 27/07/2012 22:26

Not embarrassing!

Amazing. Awesome.

cheekypickle · 27/07/2012 22:27

I thought it was superb. Individual, creative, moving and quirkily British. Loved it.

Shelby2010 · 27/07/2012 22:29

Ok, bored of this bit of parade & we're still on 'A'. Need more wine, although seem to have had quite a lot already!

honeytea · 27/07/2012 22:30

right we are on B, this is why it's so long! and shit music now.

Floggingmolly · 27/07/2012 22:31

Yes, Nanny. Swaggering in with a phone in front of your face? Not cool at all, guys Hmm

confusedpixie · 27/07/2012 22:31

NannyOgg: I feel the same way and am not very old! Cannot believe that they are allowed to film it themselves!

AlbertoFrog · 27/07/2012 22:32

Bloody brilliant - don't know what I was expecting but certainly not this.

Keep welling up though. Wuss.

Magna · 27/07/2012 22:33

Brilliant Torch

Pagwatch · 27/07/2012 22:35

I love it. Everything I love about being a Brit. Quirky, irreverent and very cool.
You have to have a huge stick up your butt or chip on your shoulder not to enjoy.

The parade of athletes is always dull. Good idea to have a fast tune for the athletes to walk into - it usually takes bloody hours.

CarlaBruni · 27/07/2012 22:36

God, I loved it. Thought it was brilliant.

They are just making countries up now

JUbilympiX · 27/07/2012 22:37

Why shouldn't they record it?

I was surprised at how good it was, being an old cynic and not wanting to see it at all. It was the story of progress, culminating in the www and the digital age. Of course the athletes can film it on their phones - it's just a part of the whole thing.

WorraLiberty · 27/07/2012 22:39

I hated it at first (the green bit) and held my head with embarrassment

But after the start, I think it was bloody brilliant.

I loved the parachuting Queen and the Mr Bean bit Grin

usualsuspect · 27/07/2012 22:41

Our country is not just London though, or have I missed the point?

happybubblebrain · 27/07/2012 22:41

Visually it was very messy, the content was very obvious and it was really just a bad ad for Britain. Also, it had nothing to do with sports or the Olympics. Glad the commentators were there to explain it all, just in case we thickos didn't get it. And who has pissed the Queen off?

peggyblackett · 27/07/2012 22:42

It was brilliant, utterly brilliant. I'm proud to be British.

MarianneM · 27/07/2012 22:42

At least they have West End Girls by the Pet Shop Boys...great song!

usualsuspect · 27/07/2012 22:42

Was it supposed to be all about London?

I loved it. I thought the music was great. I wasn't entirely taken with the start, but I can see what he was trying to do.
