As I understand it, if there is a risk of harm to children, then there is a duty to report to SS.

In the case where the main carer is a heavy drinker, or alcoholic, or drug user, or has mental health probs, some HCPs will see that as enough cause to trigger a report.

Really it's not complicated and it's not for debate. It's a fact that sometimes it happens and there is no reason that people should not be aware of that.

What about a detox day once a month. Drinking only water. But ask doctor first. And cutting down on processed foods. And some skin care treatments.

It's enormously supportive and non-judgemental and helps anyone who is worried about their drinking find ways of cutting down or abstaining completely. Whether you're not happy about the two glasses of wine you drink of an evening, or the two bottles of vodka you're drinking every day, this is the place to be. Very inspiring women there.

If she was going to have physical problems with it, she would have by now. Well done to her for getting this far.

Just keep up the support. A general vitamin supplement, plus healthy diet and excercise would be good.
