DS birthday on Thursday and we are taking him to a childrens themepark, weather is going to be quite hot apparently. My DH has a t-shirt tan ATM and wants to get rid of it. He is contemplating wearing a vest when we go to theme park, not just any vest though- A FUCKING HOOTERS VEST!!!!! He was not taking the piss either- he said he would wear a short sleeved shirt over it and then if he gets hot he can take it off Shock
I have just given him 3 good reasons why I will refuse to walk around with him whilst wearing this

  1. It's old and discoloured with suncream
  2. Last time I checked he wasn't "Onslow" from Keeping up appearences
  3. It might be ok to wear this attire with an ode to titties blazened across it on a stag do or on holiday but not at a childs theme park. He thinks AIBU- I defo don't.

Go to Primark and get him a plain vest top then. :) They are only a quid.

maudpringle · 24/07/2012 20:43

I loved Karla with a K

pjmama · 24/07/2012 20:44

Accidentally burn a big hole in it with the iron.

Olympia2012 · 24/07/2012 20:44

Which themepark?

WelshMaenad · 24/07/2012 20:56

I thought at first your DD wanted to wear a hooters vest - that would be no.

Dh... Well, if he wants to look like a tit, let him. Boom boom.

TuesdayNightClub · 24/07/2012 21:15

YANBU. I'm fairly 'each to their own' in life but my friend recently took her 2 year old and 1 week old to Hooters, and annI was fairly Hmm

TuesdayNightClub · 24/07/2012 21:16

Ah posted too soon, sorry for typos. Meant to say 'announced it on facebook' but that bit disappeared

Nobhead · 24/07/2012 21:18

If I burned it I think he would divorce me (he's very attached to his stinky vest).
Olympia I'm not falling for that- you'll turn up and rip the piss Wink.
I can't believe he is even serious about it- he's usually a vain twat very particular about his clothes. Hmm

Only if he wears a thong for lustful women to tuck fivers into.
Nice and cool too.
Depending on the quality of his body, you might even get enough to cover your costs.

My mum once buried my dad's suit in the garden. Just something to think about...

Panzee I like that idea Smile, but I have a concrete yard Sad, plenty of fields behind our house though Grin.

It would be a cold day in hell before any partner of mine wore such a thing.

Burn it and tell him he's a deeply misogynistic oaf who is helping to perpetuate the objectification of 50% of the planet.

As an alternative, throw up on it before you leave on Saturday.

squeakytoy · 24/07/2012 21:35

"my friend recently took her 2 year old and 1 week old to Hooters"

it is a family restaurant, there are always loads of children in there.. and I have seen far more revealing sights in ordinary family pubs.. particularly during the hot weather.

There was a girl at the bar yesterday teatime wearing a dress that rode up over her backside as she leant over to order her drink.. she had no underwear on.

yellowraincoat · 24/07/2012 21:40

That's nothing squeaky, I work in a school and one of my colleagues ran after me yesterday to tell me that everyone could see right up my dress when I was walking upstairs.

Quelle horror. The poor children must have been terrified.

Anyway, bit different when you're actually paying the girls to flash their enormo-cleavage at you isn't it? The whole Hooters thing is creepy as.

ImperialBlether · 24/07/2012 21:43

If I were married to him, he'd have a choice. He wears the teeshirt and doesn't come within 100 yards of the rest of the family, or he wears another teeshirt.

At some point, though, you really have to 'lose' that.

squeakytoy · 24/07/2012 21:46

Hooters really doesnt bother me, and the women rarely have much cleavage on display, or much in the way of cleavage anyway, certainly not in the few branches that I have been to. Even the one opposite Graumanns theatre in Hollywood had waiting staff who wore the shorts with knotted t-shirts, so there was a bare midriff on display, but the most godawful thick american tan tights too, which completely ruin a decent pair of legs! Grin.

There were also quite a few male waiting staff too.

Obviously not all the Hooters staff are like that, there are plenty who are models/actresses and also students, who choose to work there above other restaurants, because they want to, because the working atmosphere is fun.

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 24/07/2012 21:48

At least he considers a change from his usual attire ocassionally. Dh only leaves his comfort zone of jeans and a crappy t shirt when I ask him to.

So I'm used to walking round with a dh that looks scruffy, and a hooters t short wouldn't bother me. Just go and buy him a different vest if you're that bothered. But make sure you let him dictate what you can wear too.

AWomanCalledHorse · 24/07/2012 21:53

What Freddos said.
Scruffy old comfortable clothes are just the thing for schlepping around a hot crowded theme park, although if he is Onslow-esque than maybe he's proud of his manhooters? Grin

JumpingThroughHoops · 24/07/2012 21:54

Hilarious - can you imagine if a bloke posted wanting to control what his female partner wanted to wear Grin

catgirl1976 · 24/07/2012 21:59

I wouldn't be seen dead with a man wearing a vest in public

The Hooters logo is the least of your worries

Nobhead · 24/07/2012 22:01

it's not the fact that it's hooters (I was went there with him- the food was great) it's just the wearing it at a childrens theme park- I don't think it's appropriate. I have toldhim that if he is wearing that then I will be wearing my "I love massive cocks" T-shirt Grin. I don't actually own this t shirt but I can get one made up specially.

OP posts:
squeakytoy · 24/07/2012 22:15

I doubt anyone will actually notice it. Is it just the logo? Children can go in the restaurants and see the merchandise, they even make hooters babygrows!!

I wouldnt recommend getting a tee-shirt saying "I love massive cocks" as he is likely to wear one that says "thats why she is with me"... Grin Grin

Nobhead · 24/07/2012 22:18

Squeaky yes scrap that maybe one that says "I need a big cock" would be more apt Grin. It's the logo and the fact that it's minging and discoloured with suncream and ground in sweat- he's had it years.
