My "DH" just left the house, only to be confronted by one of the neighbours on our driveway. She was hissing and spitting at him and stood her ground.

He could have walked past and ignored, or he could have chased her off, but no, he stood there wimpering like a baby, until I went out and shooed her away.

Two of the other neighbours were stood there laughing too.

I should point out now, that "DH" means Darling Hound... a 25 kilo lump of a staffie, and the neighbour is a fluffy black and white cat! Grin

Aw poor doggie! Grin

ohChristFENTON · 20/07/2012 10:31

Cats are bastards though, poor DH.

solidgoldbrass · 20/07/2012 10:32

Better a wuss of a dog than one that eats the cat, though.

squeakytoy · 20/07/2012 10:35

I should mention, the person holding his lead was my real DH, who also stood there looking bloody gormless.... and shouted for me to come out and help. Grin

In the end, he picked the dog up and they scurried past the cat who was still glaring from a few feet further away! Cue even more laughter from the neighbours...

Poor baby. I also have a gentle soul who gets bullied by smaller dogs and small creatures like guinea pigs. He is a seven stone Rottweiler, bless him

HmmThinkingAboutIt · 20/07/2012 10:50

Hey don't belittle guinea pigs. I have had some mean ones you wouldn't mess with and teased cats deliberately.

Do not be fooled by their small, cute and furry exterior. Underneath can lie a vicious bully. You do not want to be bitten by one.

Birdsgottafly · 20/07/2012 10:53

My cats used to bully my friends massive solid staffie.

They used to terrorise him whenever they saw him on a walk, as well, there would be people driving past pissing themselves laughing.

LST · 20/07/2012 10:58

My friends Rottie is terrified of my cats Grin

They actually chase her!

squeakytoy · 20/07/2012 10:59

My little prince Grin is now laying in the garden, hoping for the sun to come out, and surrounded by starlings and a couple of wood pigeons pecking at the spilled seeds from the feeders, while he gazes at them happily..

He is not even any use as a scarecrow! Grin

oldraver · 20/07/2012 11:00

One of my neighbours had a Doberman, and she came and asked if I could move my cat off her mat as the dog wouldn't go past her Grin

Longdistance · 20/07/2012 11:06

I don't know who's the biggest pussy?

Grin
Debeezandbirds · 20/07/2012 11:07

My 17 year old skinny cat bullies my staffie. Poor dog but silly DH!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 20/07/2012 11:49

Both of my dogs back away when the cat looks at them - that's a lab and a lab cross (both quite big dogs) backing away from a cat who weighs 10lb, wringing wet.

boschy · 20/07/2012 11:51

Our Lab wont even walk past our senior cat - has to be escorted through the door with me between him and her - and if she so much as looks at him he leaves the room. She is horrid, but she loves me! (and I love her even if she is nasty)

RuleBritannia · 20/07/2012 11:53

squeakytoy

What is your 'little prince' laying? Eggs? Ah!! You mean 'lying'.

dexter73 · 20/07/2012 14:44

I used to have to run the gauntlet of next doors free range chickens when I was younger and had to take the dog for a walk. I'm sure they used to wait for us! They would charge over and start pecking me and the dog (a big one)! I still hate the beady eyed little feckers!

RubyRosie · 20/07/2012 15:47

Hahahaha that is hilarious, I'm sure the cats in my neighbourhood are in a gang and get together to bully other animals. Maybe your dog is quite sensible, my mum's cat had a fight with the neighbour's dog once when it got out of their garden and into hers, the dog came off much worse.

attheendoftheday · 20/07/2012 16:08

Poor dog! My ddog gets bullied by creatures she could eat in one mouthful too.

But I hate the phrase 'man up'. Being tough is not an exclusively masculine trait.

Baffledandbewildered · 20/07/2012 16:26

One of our dogs ( about 35kg) was recently head butted and bitten by my kitten !!! Poor dog looked SO confused......the kitten is odd !

WorraLiberty · 20/07/2012 16:27

You could tell him he needs to grow a pair but you'd probably just have them snipped off again Grin

DollysDrawers · 20/07/2012 16:29

One of our dogs is petrified of our most evil cat. He is a total bastard though and rules his house with an iron rod.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 20/07/2012 16:30

My mum has a bull mastiff Doberman cross, he's huge!! And scared of kittens. Yessiree!

Dahlen · 20/07/2012 16:30

My dog (Labrador) gets turfed out of her own bed by my cat. Grin

squeakytoy · 20/07/2012 16:33

I just sent him out to chase the squirrel off the peanut basket.. he charged out, skidded at the end of the decking as he realised it was raining a little, and shot back in.

When i had my rottie, i took him round to my mums one day, my mums cat was a bastard cat and actually chased him the whole way back down the road with the dog hollering all the way
