I have been doing myfitnesspal calorie counting for six weeks now. This has resulted in a much healthier diet with lots more fruit and veg. And weight loss of 19lb so far.

However I am only having a poo every 3-4 days. I used to go daily pre-diet. And they are really big. I weighed before and after pooing the other day and I was half a pound lighter after not obsessed at all

This has also resulted in trumpiness between poos, fortunately I have a dog and ensure she is always in the room when I feel a trump fest coming on, so I can blame her.

Is this frequency normal? Anyone else on a diet able to share their experience?

I've been on a reduced calorie diet for a few months and have like you gone from pooing once a day to once every 3 days or so. I thought it might be because I am eating less bulk but I'm still eating a fair amount and hate the thought of it all hanging around inside and making me heavier than I should be (I've done before and after weigh-ins and lost a pound!). All my old tricks for dealing with constipation no longer work eg exercise, coffee - even laxatives take longer to work. I think in my case it might be hormone related as I am 50 and perimenopausal. I've got a doctor's appointment for it next week, as I've also had some bleeding which I'm fairly sure is piles but I don't want to take any chances.

Good luck farside, hopefully it is piles.

Yes, like you I don't like the thought of it being inside for days :-(

Prunes certainly seemed to have worked although will see what happens tomorrow.

Excellent, Shitty! I mean, shifty. Sorry, I mean shifting!

Thank you for the vivid update! Yes, perhaps just a few tomorrow, eh?

Prunes are DEFINITELY the way forward I reckon.
