To think DP is being unreasonable, and quite frankly, weird?

He won't get married next year because it's 2013. Not because he thinks 13 is unlucky, oh no, it's because he hates odd numbers Hmm so it'll have to be the year after, basically 2 years away!!! He does hate odd numbers, this is true, for example, the volume on the tv will be on 20, never 19 or 21.

Aibu to think this is bloody weird? I'd rather not wait that long :(

I would enrol him in a bit of CBT to get him over these issues first..

I'd enrol him in a spot of GTFU personally

That stands for Grow The Fuck Up...just to clarify Grin

TheCunnyFunt · 08/07/2012 23:32

An aspie?

You'd end up with black eyes? Why?

Iamsparklyknickers · 08/07/2012 23:37

Would the number bit of him not like a winter wedding and date of 11/12/13?

Booette · 08/07/2012 23:38

BlackholesAndRevelations suddenly I got over my odd number thing. No more children for me! (Erm, also I am very strange that 5 is ok because it's a middle number between 0's, or something. It's not odd to me anyhow, but I'm odd to everyone else now I expect! Grin )

EightiesChick · 08/07/2012 23:38

Aspie = Asperger's syndrome

TheCunnyFunt · 08/07/2012 23:40

Ohh of course. No he's not an Aspie, just a bit weird about odd numbers.

I would get black eyes because if I dared to run my boobs would jump up and down a lot, fall out of my bra and generally misbehave. It's a dangerous business this running lark when you have big boobs.

I'm with your OH, I'm afraid. Was v pleased with the date we got married (all even numbers). My own date of birth is just about acceptable, despite being odd numbers, because there are fives in there. Fives are ok. Am still not comfortable with DS having been born in 2011, although wouldn't change him for the world.

Not Aspie, but I do have slight synesthesia and also share the thing about the volume number. I sometimes live on the edge and put it on 13 (lived at number 13 for years, can just about do it) but not for long.

Yes, I'm weird, but it's how my brain is wired, I can't help it!

FizzyLaces · 08/07/2012 23:45

Hehe re your black eyes :)

My teenage dd is the same with the volume although she doesn't mind 5,15,25 etc. And she doesn't have and ocd/aspergers etc.

holyfishnets · 08/07/2012 23:46

What about 14/4/14

ratspeaker · 08/07/2012 23:50

umm i was treating this as fairly light hearted until I read the bit about back eyes
that a bit worrrying

why would you get black eyes?

ratspeaker · 08/07/2012 23:53

AH read what you posted while I was typing

so get married this year
elope
but be sure Gretna will be well booked up for 12/12/12

lovebunny · 09/07/2012 00:39

he's asperger.
get a diagnosis. if he hates odd numbers so much he can't get married, he's asperger.

Ozziegirly · 09/07/2012 06:02

My second child is due the week beginning 10/12/12, and I am already badgering my obs for a c-section on the 12th, as much as I can badger without seeming a total loon. (I do have to have an ELCS anyway).

I don't like the "look" of 2013 either. Get married this year as 2012 looks like a nice date.

BikeRunSki · 09/07/2012 06:15

Babylon I'm going to a wedding on 10. 11.12. I'm really hoping it's at 13.14 Smile. I am not disturbed by odd numbers, but I love sequences and patterns.

mnistooaddictive · 09/07/2012 06:20

For me, multiples of 3 are good, others are bad. This means there is more bad than good. If your dp was like me, you would have to wait until 2015!

ErikNorseman · 09/07/2012 06:26

Love bunny you really are a strange individual. Lots of people on this thread have said they have similar issues with odd numbers. It's very common. It does not mean he has aspergers!

lovebunny · 09/07/2012 07:14

there's a lot of undiagnosed asperger's. get him checked out.

i really am a strange individual? why is that, do you think? Grin

ZombieBear · 09/07/2012 07:30

He is being unreasonable, odd numbers are much nicer and pretty. Some even numbers have an attitude problem 8,12 & 14 are particularly irritating.

Psammead · 09/07/2012 07:41

Oh, I know someone just like this. Although 13 would be ok because it's prime and that makes it feel ok.

Gauchita · 09/07/2012 08:00

Oh, 12.12 is a great date OP Grin

I don't like odd numbers either. I wanted to have my DC in even years... didn't happen (09 and 11) but at least I was 28 and 30 when I had them

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 09/07/2012 08:57

I'm the opposite as I much prefer odd numbers. I have the volume on an odd numer as even ones make me feel twitch. Both me and DS were born on even numbers but there's not much I can do a bout that! I love the symmetry in dates and numbers. It wouldn't stop me getting married though - would he do a date like 26/06/13. That's got more even than odd in it?
