AIBU to expect 11month old DD to sleep from 7pm to 7am?

Our two year old dd goes down at 8 and gets up at 5 am most days. It's exhausting but the best she's managed and she now rarely wakes in the night. We have given up fighting it and now live around it, we go to bed early and enjoy a few hours with her every morning before work and nursery. Can you try and adapt your routine at all?

Chesterado how many mornings/days does your dd go to nursery?

My DD goes to childminder 9-5pm Monday to Friday and I feel a bit bad about it!

Dc is nearly 3 and doesn't sleep through, so yabu, sorry though it's a total pain and very knackering.

LittleWaveyLines · 09/07/2012 20:36

I would kill for 3 hours sleep in a row.... DD (12 months) has NEVER slept more than 3 hours in a row, and normally manages 2 at a time at night...

cheekypickle · 09/07/2012 20:37

Little wavylines that's crazy!

Yup, and I'm back at work - teacher as well..... and then she also doesn't go to sleep till quite late - last night was 10.30pm. And she's not tired - just doesn't need much sleep!

So believe me - be grateful for the amount of sleep you get! Grin

Are you back full time littlewavylines?

I feel really guilty that dd is in child care so much! Needs must though

I'm primary

Secondary. 50% timetable - although that means you are still in 4 days a week for most of the day in secondary - as they don't split classes between teachers in my school.

Could you do fewer hours?

gobbledegook1 · 09/07/2012 20:47

I think its quite common for them to still wake at that age, I suppose it depends on how frequent the waking is. I would probably expect a couple of times.

My DS slept through 7pm - 7am from about 13 weeks old however once he reached age 2 he started to regress a bit and at age 3.5 he can now vary from sleeping all night (7-7) to waking anywhere up to 3 times a night.

Am going to go back full time in sept, see how it goes then I might cut down to 4 or 3 days.

Hope it works out for you :)

cheekypickle · 09/07/2012 20:53

Thanks! Hope you get some sleep

She goes to nursery three days plus a day at home with my mum. I have Fridays off with her. It is really hard going back to work, especially on little sleep, but it does all get easier! I should really go to bed now !
