I think this rain is God's way of telling me to stay in and watch a good film and pamper myself today? Hmm

Your skin doesn't age as much when you're indoors. Less UV rays. Less chance of getting skin cancer.
You burn more calories when it's cold.
Summer clothes last longer when you're not wearing them.

Angelico · 08/07/2012 14:35

I would rather look like this and have the sunshine :o

[Disclaimer: I have given up the fags]

Lou it is very hard to be positive when you have days and days and days on end of rain - which is regular where I live. Sometimes weeks, literally with nothing but grey sky.

Exactly. It was easy to be positive for the first few weeks, but it's rained since bloody March. I am 42, always lived in the UK, and never known so much rain in my life.

It's not easy to laugh off the fact that summer has been cancelled.

I am loving this weather. I don't suit Summer clothes and I love being able to wear my lovely boots and skirts and stuff. I don't get sweaty, my hair doesn't go as greasy, I don't get sunburn.

Love it. Sorry. Wink

I agree with oldslag.
I normally like the rain, for all the reasons mentioned above, but this has gone on for MONTHS. I honestly can't remember this long a period of rain in my entire life! Edinburgh's rainfall is up a staggering 200%!!
It is endless and miserable and is making me slightly crazy. i can't stand it...

You know I've had that many weekend duvet days with the kids(which I normally love)I never want to eat home made popcorn or see crappy kids films ever again.

Just been down to the south coast and had to avoid some flooded roads to get to Weymouth. Saw some lovely places due to the diversions!

Sat out overlooking Chesil Beach and soaking up a sunny warm afternoon...ready now for the next onslaught of weather.

How does that song go? 'Al-ways look on the briiiiiiight siiiiide of life...' Grin

I love the odd rainy day or even a few , but this is ridiculous , it's been going on for months & it is v v depressing.

So many outdoor events have been cancelled, thousands of peoples days and plans ruined, and we really are not having any kind of summer at all. I love the fact that the grass etc is so green just can't see how months of rain every day is great when we should be at least having a few days of dry to be able to plan and do things outside.

I guess if you're an urban hermit anyway it doesnt matter so much. Personally i like to get out and about and be able to relax - don't care what people say, its just not that nice when its lashing.

Angelico, I LOVE the rain! Smile It helps me get 'chill' time. See first comment here.
