Having attended 13 years of primary sports day and hating every minute...I wanted to be at Bessie Street last night.
And I think RTE should replace Fair City with an entire rerun of Glenroe maryz. In the old days, Ulster Television showed Glenroe and Take the High Road. Bliss.

Yanbu about corrie and ee

BUT

Hollyoaks is the best soap ever!!!

Channel 4 in the evening is heaven. 4 in a bed, come dine with me, simpsons, hollyoaks Grin

ExitPursuedByABear · 07/07/2012 11:53

I used to love Prisoner Cell Block H - when I lived alone and would watch it late at night with a large glass of red before going to bed.

Happy Days.

I love Corrie - it is hilarious. So fuck off (in the nicest possible way of course)

Mrsjay · 07/07/2012 11:53

Have any of you seen River city its a grittier take the high road but with terrible acting I was hooked for a while

Mrsjay · 07/07/2012 11:54

sigh prisoner was just amazing I miss it Sad

Johnnydeppsnewmrs · 07/07/2012 13:29

I watch Corrie - and am proud to admit it. Grin
I am an educated lady, but I enjoy a bit of an escape in the evening. It provides background noise whilst I sew, and I like it.

iklboo · 07/07/2012 13:33

I detest soaps & people who talk about the characters as if they are real, and the events are really happening make me a bit twitchy. But, each to their own I suppose.

SoleSource · 07/07/2012 14:02

Some aspects of soap life and characters are very realistic. Fact.

MsVestibule · 07/07/2012 14:42

Another Corrie fan here. Love it that John could fall from a six storey building, then get up and walk away. It's actually been a bit shit lately, but I'll stick with it until things improve. Much like my marriage. Only joking, DH Grin.

I don't think I'm a moron, but I guess morons never do, do they?

MammaTJ · 07/07/2012 15:17

I am always trying to work out who is babysitting for those with kids while they are all in the pub!!! Can anyone answer this?

Ok. You make good points and I've never understood how people could get into soaps.....but then I discovered Nollywood. I realise that this will out me in real life, but may I recommend Africa Magic? Strangely gripping:

The tv channel

LentillyFart · 07/07/2012 15:49

I think it's a bit stiff to call people 'morons' for what they watch! I don't watch soaps, but I love shite like the X Factor so that probably makes me a bit of a half head! Dallas was brilliant though - and I'll definitely watch it again when it makes a comeback.

tiggyfours · 07/07/2012 15:52

Don't give a monkeys fiddle faddle if it is rubbish, Emmerdale starring is the start of Mummy time!

Mrsjay · 07/07/2012 15:56

Dot used to babysit for them ALL in EE then a creche/nursery seems to have opened in a comunity centre everybody elses kids as i only watch enders, I always wonder where the children are especially the little ones Grin

MammaTJ · 07/07/2012 16:51

That's ok during the day but surely it isn't open at night? Sometimes Dot is in the Queen Vic too and I'm sure she can't cope with much babysitting nowadys, poor old love!!

Glad I'm not the only one who worries Mrsjay

feuerandwasser · 07/07/2012 19:44

YANBU....tv misery porn at it's worst, nothing nice ever happens just unrelenting doom and gloom

Mrsjay · 07/07/2012 23:52
