I have this 10k run to do on Sunday.
I need an Ipod full of music to get me round.
At this stage I should point out that I will be two days off 45, a mother of five and knackered when I attempt it.

But attempt it I will in raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust (thank you to everyone who has sponsered me).

SO.... I need plenty of songs. Two fast ones, one slower, two fast, one slower for up to two hours (I am not overly optomistic re time scales).

I like rock, reggae, blues, jazz and indie type.

I dont like pop (stuff like Take That makes me stabby and may cause me to run into a lamp post).

Can you opinionated lot help me out? How many and what and in what order.

Fix You by Cold Play will need to be at the end because when I am flagging that will get me to the finish. It is the oncology mum's anthem.

I am frankly terrified.

Help me MNers please?

I am going to sort the DCs out. I will be back soon. So if you could have it sorted by then I would be very pleased. thank you very much

How about The Offspring - Want you bad

SweetestThing · 02/07/2012 21:47

Green Day always good to run to, also Blink 182, Lostprophets and - totally different - I have a fabulous album called Music of South Africa, which has some brilliantly uplifting tracks on it.

EdgarAllenPimms · 02/07/2012 21:53

if you like dance then or

though it takes a lil bit to warm up..and you can tell it's seven years a bit since i went clubbing..

if you like rock and that sort of thing

i believe in a thing called love - the darkness
love in an elevator - aerosmith (cheese)

or more recent..

back to black

or some motown, as those tracks have real energy in them..

or some doors - light my fire being upbeat enough....

good luck :)

I start off with the vaccines - if you wanna. and norgaard. Then kasabian rewired. The blues brothers album has loads of good running tracks.
Then ...
sheriff fatman by carter usm
arctic monkeys - I bet you look good on the dance floor
Ramones - do you wanna dance
Salt n peppa - push it
Britney spears - toxic
Indpiral carpets - this is how it feels
Shawty got moves
Sweat - snoop dogg
Libertines - can't stand me now
Dreadlock holiday - 10cc
Offspring - pretty fly for a white guy
Ride on time - black box
Buck Rogers - feeder
Seven nation army - white stripes

Good luck for the race from another in-natural runner. I would say that I would never train without music but when I did ky one and only race (also at age 44!) I found the crowd pushed me along far quicker than even my most energetic music did.

MrsDV, I assure you I am very under-prepared! Off to Conference in Liverpool tomorrow and am taking my running gear as I must, must, must get out for a plod or I will have bog-all chance of getting round on Sunday.

Fancy trying to meet up beforehand?

Oh, I am a right plodder, believe me! I can't see me doing it in anything less than 1 hour 15 and will probably take longer.

Will pm you my mobile number and if you pm me yours, we can sort out a meeting-point etc.

ICutMyFootOnOccamsRazor · 02/07/2012 23:16
