I read that she is going for sole custody as she will then be able to withdraw Suri from the scientology "religion". She can't if TC has shared custody.

I reckon she's been planning this for a long time and has been biding her time until she was in the position to leave.

I can see why K.Holmes would be running a mile, the scientology thing is just bizarre.

But, what I don't understand is why she got involved in the first place. It only takes a google to see all the problems that people have had with that cult, and that isn't new in the last 5 years. Was she just really naive?

I don't buy into the 5 year contract thing, her career wasn't doing too badly and she had made some money from things she had already done. Did she just fall for the hype?

I think she was pretty unwordly and innocent as far as Hollywood actresses went at the time. Maybe she was promised a better career, maybe she was promied riches, maybe she was flattered and steam rolled quickly into marriage.

I think the timing of the divorce from NK was more based on the length of their marriage than her age, although it is an odd coincidence.

Headfairy I cant think of many cults and religions that dont seep into your life and control it so she was perhaps just incredibly naive or dumb not to consider that scientology would play a big part in their life together

Yes I was going to post what NoOnes did - she had a big teen crush on him and apparently "always thought" that she'd end up marrying him, so it was a dream come true for her.

I guess she didn't realise how much the Scientology would affect her life; or maybe she wasn't so worried until she realised how bad it was going to be for Suri. The thing I was watching earlier suggested that they do some weird shit to the children, that will somehow end up endowing them with "magical powers" - only no one so far has shown any sign of these (which really makes me wonder how head-fucked all these proponents of scientology must be to still believe it). I also heard that she was hooked up to some kind of brain-electrode thingy and asked questions like "have you ever deliberately got dirty" - I mean, she's a child - most of them do!!

It only bothered KH when HER kid was going to be affected by scientology, not so caring about the other kids she made sure NK heard in the press now call Kh Mom.
