I didn't say you weren't allowed Jins. It just seems weird to harp on about something you so obviously dislike.

I've lived in plenty of other cities. There is nowhere NEAR the diversity/fun to be had that there is in London. I know London is not for everyone. But considering there's 7 billion people here, there's always going to be a far greater variety of things going on.

yellowraincoat · 28/06/2012 18:43

And besides that, some people are aware that there is diversity in other cities (really, wow, no shit) but it's nowhere near approaching London's.

London is well-known for being the most diverse city not just in the UK but in the world.

If you think the Tube's bad, try living in a big city which doesn't have one! Crap busses that don't go where you want or do so slowly you'd be better walking except it takes an hour, so you have to walk miles in the rain at either end, waiting trying to keep dry in a pathetic excuse for a bus stop, being poisened by diesel fumes, etc, etc.. I'd rather have an underground to use.

Birdsgottafly · 28/06/2012 22:11

I agree with geegee.

I live in Liverpool, which is diverse.

I wish that we had the transport system that London has, especially the tube system, or even more regular trains.

yellowraincoat · 28/06/2012 22:16

The problem with the tube is that the minute it has the slightest problem everything goes tits up.

Broken down train on the central line? Great, you're going to have to stand on the tube platform for 15 minutes while they get it off the rails, while it gets more and more packed, then when the trains start running, you're going to watch 10 trains go past before you can get on and when you do get on, you are going to be squashed into someone's armpit.

Because you're underground you can't call to say you'll be late. I got a warning because I was late so often, but the central line had massive delays a few days - I always leave early for work to counteract this now. I start at 9, it takes me 50 minutes, but I have to leave just after 7 just in case there's a problem.

I live in Bristol which is massively diverse and has a great variety of things to do.

I don't wish we had the tube though - we have buses and trains which aren't as regular as the tube but I still prefer it!

Guys guys guys, I know that there are diverse cities with stuff you can do.

I KNOW. I have lived in Leicester, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Bristol, Gloucester and other cities in Europe/Mid-East.

NOTHING in the UK has the range of London.

Yellow. I have no idea why you addressed your post to me
