Its getting a bit late now isnt it. and there is school tomorrow. DS1 is football mad. There is lots of shouting and jumping around being done. I told him he could watch it but didnt consider extra time or penalties.
It is a bit late though isnt it.... and he is going to be very grumpy tomorrow at school Confused am i being a crap mother??
( I cant stand it btw. but it gives me a chance to mumsnet)

That wasn't supposed to happen. As DS said, we're not supposed to lose to Italy on penalties, that is the privilege of the Germans Sad

Oh Severn your poor DS! (feel bad for rest of England fans too, self included)

Now it's past my bedtime too!

severnofnine · 24/06/2012 22:29

oh well never mind..... it seems the mix of a very tired 8 yr old + england losing on penalties = slight hysteria

we are now going retire for the night and DS1 is going to have a massive cuddle

we let ds2 stay up for the last england match, but havent done tonight, we were going to but he didnt behave this afternoon, he was warned and ignored the warning so wasnt allowed to stay up, i felt harsh but he knows the rules. as it is he is going to be very upset tomorrow and would have been in tears now had he been allowed up to watch it. he is 9.

yes its late but its not an everyday occurance, and i spoke to my ds2's teacher about it and he has children the same age and has been letting them stay up for the england games!
