aibu to be worried sick - ds 17 not home and phone off

DH is away. It's late. I would love another glass of wine. DS should be on his way home from the other side of London. Haven't heard from him for four hours. He was mugged about six weeks ago. His phone isn't on; this happened last time. Not expecting him home before 11.30pm but absolutely worried sick.

Can you please keep me company until he gets home or make contact.

Yes, make sure you come back on here. I hope everything's alright.

lambethlil · 15/06/2012 23:51

It'll only get later- I'd call bf's mum now. You wouldn't mind would you?

But if he was on that tube, he would have had a signal for at least the last 15 minutes. Don't think it's the tube but could be out of battery but that's rare.

Did he say he would be back at 11.30, or just some time after 11.30? My kids are still small, I'm really not looking forward to the waiting up for them stage.

MammaTJ · 15/06/2012 23:52

What Nanny said!!`

lambethlil · 15/06/2012 23:53

I wouldn't call DH as I assume he's 'away away' and couldn't do anything. DH would call me though!

oshuk · 15/06/2012 23:54

Could you find any of his friends of fb?

marriedinwhite · 15/06/2012 23:57

Not a facebook user. I know the last act was on at 10.15. It's the fact he has not been in touch that is worrying me as much as anything else. Also can't remember the last time I heard so many tubes come over the bridge this frequently but have only just been listening for them for the last 20 minutes.

Any news?

marriedinwhite · 15/06/2012 23:58

DH is 000s of miles away and will be asleep so not point calling him about anxiety rather than a real live problem. There goes another tube train Shock

I hope that's him. Feel your pain. Just talking about letting 8.5 walk to his friends house - along the road with both mums watching.

I had loads more freedom and to be honest didn't worry about whether my mum might be on tenterhooks

lambethlil · 15/06/2012 23:59

Phone bf's mum now!

Noqontrol · 15/06/2012 23:59

I guess his friends mum would be waiting up as well? In which case there's no harm in making the call. But if you're feeling really stressed, understandably, then make the call anyway. No decent person would begrudge you that.

ILoveOnionRings · 16/06/2012 00:00

Any other siblings who may have one of his friends numbers?

WorraLiberty · 16/06/2012 00:01

Can you text his BF's Mum?

That way if she's asleep it might not wake her?

mcfee · 16/06/2012 00:01

Phone BFs mum. If it was the other way round you wouldn't mind.

griphook · 16/06/2012 00:02

Could you text bf mum, if you feel uncomfortable calling her ?

Not4turning · 16/06/2012 00:02

When he turns up, just tell him straight that you were sitting there worrying your arse. I would also show news reports of mums who did the same but their kids didn't turn up. Really let him have it.

Remind me, why did I want children! Lol

Not4turning · 16/06/2012 00:04

Have you checked the tube status?

marriedinwhite · 16/06/2012 00:04

He's home. He's topped up my glass. He's had a brilliant time. He knew he had to come home and left his mates straight after the last act to get back from the East End. His phone died and because he came home before his mates he couldn't call from one of their's. All's well.

Thank you all for holding my hand and being there. Enjoying wine now I know the police won't be calling! Phew. Silly I know - he's only 6'2" and plays front row Blush

Or the venue- it probably over ran? Have you called bfs mum yet?

lambethlil · 16/06/2012 00:06

Yeah! Sleep well.
