thebestisyettocome · 13/06/2012 23:10

Mayorquimby. Are the mnetter with the DH who usually goes to all the tournaments?

mayorquimby · 13/06/2012 23:12

no not me. I have a gf who feigns interest for my benefit though if that's any help.

thebestisyettocome · 13/06/2012 23:14

Ah. Bless her for pretending to like football.

OddBoots · 13/06/2012 23:18

316b , it's okay, football matches are ten a penny at the moment, I'm sure SiSiTD's housemate can watch another one sometime in the next few days. You never know, there might be a public house showing a few too.

316b · 13/06/2012 23:24

his country over you cutteduppear, yeah i think the country does get priority

AFingerofFudge · 13/06/2012 23:27

love love love love love it

cantspel · 13/06/2012 23:32

Loving every second of it.

I dont understand why as soon as football comes on people have to moan about it. Does their tv only have one channel and no off switch? If you dont like football dont watch it but bloody hell stop moaning about it as beleive it or not the powers that be are allowed to broadcast programs that you dont like or want to watch.

geminitiger · 13/06/2012 23:33

My hands are up not because of my personal preferences but because while events like this may be lucrative in terms of alcohol sales, it can also be a right pain for those who have to deal with the drunk or the would be drunk!!

ChaoticismyLife · 13/06/2012 23:35

Throwing a tantrum because you can't watch a game of football is pathetic.

Luckily in this house nobody watches football so I've managed to avoid all of it Grin

MarySA · 13/06/2012 23:37

I absolutely couldn't believe it was football yet again tonight. No news on ITV when I switched over after Eggheads. Two matches. it is getting beyond a joke. Grr. Angry

316b · 13/06/2012 23:41

if you watch the ITV news then you dont have any right to talk about television programming

rhondajean · 13/06/2012 23:41

Scotland's not playing though Sad

cantspel · 13/06/2012 23:43

Of couse scotlands not playing. They failed to qualify but never mind we will let you support england insteadGrin

GrahamTribe · 13/06/2012 23:45

I'm fed up with the football but only because England played like a bunch of schoolboys on Hackney Marsh!

SquidgyBiscuits · 13/06/2012 23:49

My hands are down as I love it! Football is rarely on terrestrial tv, especially an international tournament - every 2 years isn't exactly excessive, even less so when you compare the coverage to the amount of shit soaps and reality shows that are on day in day out.

And heaven forbid people who hate it so much just watch something else, or do something other than watch tv?

316b · 13/06/2012 23:59

preach squdigybiscuits preach

Well said.

rhondajean · 14/06/2012 00:05

Sok I've got Italy earmarked cos after two ( fab) years holidaying in England I'm off to Italy next month.

I would have supported you if a) I was holidaying there and b) the media didn't keep going on about 1966 every world cup year Grin

cantspel · 14/06/2012 00:09

Errr it is not the world cup.

Love Italy but i dont think i could bring myself to support them in the footie

Busyoldfool · 14/06/2012 00:10

Agree with ilovesooty.

I am also enjoying it and what is really nice is I watch the matches with DS and it is something we share. (We struggle to communicate a bit so this is important to me)

Whatmeworry · 14/06/2012 00:10

Think of what the football is stoppoing - it gets in the way of all the reality TV and celebrity quiz shows dammit!

rhondajean · 14/06/2012 00:12

Oh I know it's not a world cup year - and I don't think england fans do it - but it's hard listening to the media...also...even this year the England coverage is endless. I do understand to an extent, honest.

Portugal are usually my team ( like an underdog) but I loooove Italy and DH has the shirt and his pub got them in the sweep so it's only right.

I don't think you will win btw. Not sure who will mind you.

rhondajean · 14/06/2012 00:12

^ to cantspel

cantspel · 14/06/2012 00:17

I am quite enjoying russia. They could be the dark horse of the competition but as they are bankrolled by Abramovich i am not sure i want them to win.
