To think that actually, Madonna DOESN'T need to keep her clothes on if she doesn't want to?

Just because she is 53. I find it quite offensive actually that she's been told by Liz Jones, of all people that because she's post-menopause, she needs to cover up.

Personally, I'd rather see Madge flaunting herself than the twats on TOWIE. I think she looks great and I'd sell my kid to look like her NOW, never mind at 53!

Feminist principles aside (I know) I don't think that age alone is a reason for her to not get her boob out on stage. AIBU?

Just to side track the concert was shite. She was more than 2 hours late on stage. Said hello Abu dhabi, it's hot ( no shit Sherlock you're in the fucking desert!) people in the crowd were passing out from the heat. We had 2 very boring hours of Michael Jackson whilst we waited. She opened by shooting guns, blood all over the screens and the said peace in syria and the middle east. She is just a ,ironic over hyped idiot. Think she knew we weren't happy, no encore. Twat.

yellowraincoat · 12/06/2012 11:56

I agree that all the "put it away love" is a bit off considering how much of Rihanna and so on we see all the time. It was just a nipple.

I'm all for people showing their bodies if they want to, at the same time I am sick of all the raunch culture because it doesn't feel like people (and by people I mean women) necessarily WANT to show their body, but pretty much feel they have to.

TheNightWatch · 12/06/2012 12:03

I got half way through the article and, I have to pose for breath.

Why the hell would anyone have their nipples made smaller and darker, Ms Jones? Confused Im more shocked at that then Madonna

cocolepew · 12/06/2012 12:06

I wondered how she got them made darker.

Magic marker perhaps?

halcyondays · 12/06/2012 12:11

Plenty of people make put it away love comments about Rihanna too. I'm sure people would still go to see Madonna in concert regardless of what she wore or whether she showed her nipples. And I'm sure she's still got a few quid in the bank so she doesn't need to do it.

pattercakes · 12/06/2012 12:20

Madonna is on her admission not the best singer in the world. But she has handled the business side of pop brilliantly. Succeeded in a mans business world.

yellowraincoat · 12/06/2012 12:27

No one says "put it away" to Rihanna because they find her body disgusting because of her age though.

Do women really cease to be attractive once they're 30?

redrubyshoes · 12/06/2012 12:30

There is a cold hardness to Madonna that means I can never think of her as an attractive woman.

squoosh · 12/06/2012 12:36

I don't think she should put her nipples away because she's 50. I do think she should put them away because she's done it so many times before and it's boring. Get some new ideas Madonna!

I dislike Madonna mainly because she has absolutely no sense of humour. None. Did anyone else see her on Graham Norton's show. Awful.

Plus she's clearly eaten up with rage that Lady Gaga has, as she sees it, stolen her sound and her look etc. Not that Madonna has ever appropriated a look or a sound from someone else. Oh no, she's clearly never been influenced by Marilyn Monroe or Debbie Harry.

redrubyshoes · 12/06/2012 12:38

Has anyone ever seen the toe curling interview with Madonna by Vanessa Feltz? It was horrible to watch.

Mrsjay · 12/06/2012 12:38

I want Rhianna to just go away never mind her bits and pieces she does my head in ,

Mrsjay · 12/06/2012 12:39

she was just awful on graham norton he looked v v uncomfy with the whole thing but trying to fawn all over her , I was cringing she takes it all so seriously

yellowraincoat · 12/06/2012 12:41
is the best Madonna interview ever.

She is SO pissed off. Courtney is hilarious.

Madonna is a bit of a sourpuss, I'm definitely not a fan.

I used to love Madge, but now she makes me cringe if I see her on TV.

Not because she wears a leotard at 53 years old.

Because she looks like she has a boney fanjo in a leotard!

PetitRat · 12/06/2012 13:32

I don't much care what she does (she's always relied on shock tactics to cover up her mediocrity) but I know how my DS would feel if I behaved like that. Sad, sad, sad.......

cocolepew · 12/06/2012 13:43

She may have suceeded in a mans world but a lot of that has to do with whipping her clothes off. The Sex book isn't something I'd want my DDs to aspire to.

Itsjustafleshwound · 12/06/2012 13:47

And besdes the issue of who she is and what her political views and opinions are, surely exposing yourself on stage is just giving the finger to your host country ....

Whatmeworry · 12/06/2012 16:51

she's always relied on shock tactics to cover up her mediocrity

Bingo.

CaliforniaLeaving · 12/06/2012 17:02

I think she's past her sell by date and trying anything to cling to her youth.
It wouldn't be so bad but she had a go at Janet Jackson for having the old wardrobe malfunction at the super bowl and flashing her nips, saying you don't need to do that sort of thing and here she is doing it too.

JumpingThroughHoops · 12/06/2012 17:32

I was rather hoping she was going to get arrested for moral outrage in a predominantly Muslim country. Then we might not have to listen to her god awful caterwalling any more.

fedupofnamechanging · 12/06/2012 17:41

Flashing your breasts for attention is undignified, no matter how old or young the woman concerned.

Madonna has had an amazing career - this sort of attention seeking behaviour is beneath her.

I think the same about the likes of Rihanna too.

Speaking of Rihanna, the kids and I skim through the music channels and count how many seconds we get to before finding a Rihanna video - she is over exposed in both senses of the word.

compos you made me laugh with your Bill Oddie thing - will never be able to hear that song again without thinking of it. you gave me mental images I could have happily gone my whole life without having. Thanks for sharing Grin

Krumbum · 12/06/2012 18:39

The only thing that liz jones did make a good point on is that this should not be what women aspire to look like. So many of you saying she has good body, why is someone who punishes and hurts their body with extreme excercise, malnutrition and plastic surgery=good body. This is not something to aspire to, it is depressing that her whole life is dedicated to looking sexually attractive, that is not a positive. Would it be offensive of a less traditionally sexy women in her 50's got her boobs out?

fedupofnamechanging · 12/06/2012 21:02

Look at the response Denise Welch gets, when she flashes hers!
