To think the Camerons don't really deserve the bollocking they're receiving

Never ever ever thought I'd be on his side btw! But it was a mistake ..they thought she was with each other, no harm came to his DD! She's absolutely fine and mistakes happen! There's enough "I'm a shit parent threads" on here to prove that its hardly unusual

And yes I know he's in charge of the country but bot sure it has much to do with it Tbh

Awaits flaming

Me too - I saw a keep calm and carry on sign up on the wall Shock secretly loves then I do

YANBU OP - have the bollockers never seen home alone?

OhNoMyFanjo · 11/06/2012 20:58

Missed it, what did she say?

CelstialNavigation · 11/06/2012 21:19

I doubt the Camerons deserve a bollocking for this.

But nor does the UK deserve Cameron as a Prime Minister. And yet here he is, not going anywhere, policy after policy, having a negative impact on millions of lives.

Passmethecrisps · 11/06/2012 21:27

Are they getting a bollocking? Today I listened to radio 4 and watched the channel 4 news. Both did very sympathetic pieces where large numbers of people admitted having done the same.

Much as I think he is a complete tosser, I am sure he and his wife were really upset - who wouldn't be?

I did see/ hear something in the background where is suggested that Mrs Cameron (what's her name again?) should not worry too much about her mistake. Bloody infuriating.

CrunchyFrog · 11/06/2012 21:31

People are just enjoying having a stick to beat him with, I think.

Me too. Grin

(My Mum once picked up one of her twins from school and forgot the other, which was a feat of absent mindedness IMO.)

ICutMyFootOnOccamsRazor · 11/06/2012 21:55

Grin CrunchyFrog, that's stunning. Love it.

CelstialNavigation · 11/06/2012 21:58

I liked the comments section on the article where one poster says "Yet another U-turn..."

carernotasaint · 11/06/2012 22:02

They arent really getting a bollicking though are they. I can just imagine what some people in that pub and town would be saying if it was a couple from a housing estate who had left their kid in the pub though.

exoticfruits · 11/06/2012 22:11

Anyone could do it. The staff looked after her and they were soon back.

ontheedgeofwhatever · 11/06/2012 22:16

YANBU - I went to pick dd up, talked to some friends then walked most of the way out of the school tonight before noticing that DD was still in the classroom waiting for me to pick her up Blush Poor little thing thought I was planning to leave her there for the night

Goolash · 11/06/2012 22:23

I think most of the press has been sympathetic. When did it happen? I heard a month ago this morning and on other news "earlier this year". His press office must be releasing the story to sho the human side of him. It makes you wonder what the fuck else he's done that they want to distract from Grin

landofsoapandglory · 11/06/2012 22:35

YANBU OP
Had a regular poster on MN posted that they had done it, a lot of people would have seen the funny side and told them not to beat themselves up over it!

Rollmops · 11/06/2012 23:08

OP - absolutely correct, YANBU the slightest.
The child was in no danger whatsoever.

NarkedRaspberry · 11/06/2012 23:13

'AIBU to think the Camerons don't really deserve the bollocking they're receiving?'

For the thing with their child? No.

For privatising the NHS, taking money from the disabled, targeting the poorest in our society, being in bed with Rebecca Brooks etc etc? Yes, and more.

misslinnet · 11/06/2012 23:37

It's an understandable mistake, given that the Camerons were going home in separate cars.

I bet they'll be doing a lot of double checking about who's got the kids in the future though Smile

Devora · 11/06/2012 23:39

I would have been delighted to be able to use this story as yet more evidence against the man.

But I can't. We've all done something similar, or equivalent, haven't we?

MilkNoSugarAndAShotofWhisky · 12/06/2012 07:24

For privatising the NHS, taking money from the disabled, targeting the poorest in our society, being in bed with Rebecca Brooks etc etc? Yes, and more

But that has naff all to do with the point of the thread!

At least if we do something like that its not splashed over the papers and we can hide and never tell a soul :o

jamdonut · 12/06/2012 07:47

Guess you'll all hate/ shout at me, cos I do like Cameron, Blush but with respect to the "incident" ,I think it is one of those things that could happen to anyone, and I think they should be left alone.
My MIL left my DH in a pram outside a shop and walked home with his older brother, before she realised something was missing...!! Shock

CaveMum · 12/06/2012 07:58

I wonder if the Press Office released the story because one of the papers got hold of it and we're threatening to run it. Better to hold your hands up and say "yes this happened", than have a paper (no doubt with an agenda) run it with a negative spin.

misslinnet · 12/06/2012 08:36

Probably - the article I read was quoting one of the pub staff. So I was thinking someone at the pub went to one of the papers.

2shoes · 12/06/2012 08:41

yabu
he is the prime minister who's government keep telling us how to parent so he has to be perfect.
aslo his dd is a kidnap risk,

ScarlettInSpace · 12/06/2012 08:48

I read Victoria Beckham in an interview recently saying she & David once drove off from home in separate cars to drop the kids at school and neither of them remembered to take Brooklyn because they thought he was with the other one, dont remember that making the front page.

Load of noise about nothing, completely agree with whoever it was that said the Sun could conveniently blow it out of proportion so they didn't have to report in detail on Gordon Brown's appearance at the Leveson Enquiry...

MarySA · 12/06/2012 12:40

It was a distraction tactic. That's my opinion.

BlackOutTheSun · 12/06/2012 12:44

Well after Major at Leveson today, I do wonder what the sun headline will be tomorrow, hopefully more dirt on Cameron
