To ask you to recommend a nice cake for me to eat

In a nutshell, dd went to a party today, she bought home cake and now I'm craving cake. Don't want to bake one (even though I make a mean cake), so basically what cake should I buy? I have a M&S food and tesco a 10 min drive away and a waitrose 2 mins on foot. I really want an iced birthday cake but isnt it weird buying A birthday cake if there's not a birthday?

So just recommend a goooooood cake.

You surely don't have a supermarket near you that's open at this time on a Sunday night?

If you do.... Battenburg!

WorraLiberty · 10/06/2012 22:37

Grin Trouble is, it will give you the munchies so you'll have to buy a few of them.

today i have had alot of cake DD birthday party :) couldn't recommend one as even the though is making me feel alittle sick.

so for me it would have to be a cake in a tin ( like the one in the link) with hot steaming custard

Mchappy that link is funny!

This cake is proper filling and after a bit I always start feeling a bit sick but its so nice tasting that I carry on eating it until my bowl is finished even if it means I cant eat anything for the rest of the day because I feel too pukey!

Hahaha!

I made a coffee drizzle cake with marscapone frosting on Friday. There's a slice left? Grin

Jinsei · 10/06/2012 22:50

M&S birthday cakes are yummy! :)

McHappyPants2012 · 10/06/2012 22:50

they are quite sickly, but when one fancies something nice and don't know what that nice thing is, this normally does the trick.

thebody · 10/06/2012 22:52

Oink oink!!!!

kittyandthefontanelles · 10/06/2012 22:58

Manic- recipe?

rainydaysarebad · 10/06/2012 23:03

Jinsei - I know! I'm tempted to just go and buy a n M&S birthday cake!!

Whoever said oink oink - how rude!! I'm a breastfeeding mother - I need to make up the calories I burn whilst nursing (Haha!)
