If my DH had been in hospital since Mon I would've visited him more than once......

Is it just me or is it a little odd that the Queen has only been to see Philip once since Monday? Confused

Or was that the "official" visit and she gets bundled in the back entrance a couple of times a day Grin.

Seems a little harsh on him otherwise?

(disclaimer - I know there are things happening in Syria and I am worrying about that too :) )

Not sure visiting your 90 yr old oter half loved one while he is I'll in hosp more than once in 5 days constitutes living in each others pockets?!

Surely they will all take him cake tomorrow?!

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 08/06/2012 20:12

I was in hospital a whole week and dh visited once. I was ill, last thing I needed was him fanning around Grin

On a serious note the Queen is quite in touch and I should imagine she is thankful they are not in seperate nursing homes and unable to visit each other for weeks Sad

MsKittyFane · 08/06/2012 20:15

I bet they've been taking it in turns. Was he on the balcony? He wasn't was he? I bet Andy, Ed and Anne were with him most of that day. The Queen will have had plenty of time to bake cake. She finished on Tuesday. He'll be fine!

carben · 08/06/2012 20:16

FGS - they are famous for 'not doing' hospital visits to the relatives. I agree with them - if I'm ill and in hospital I would much rather be left alone to get on with it rather than have to make inane, crap conversation.

When she is visiting it will affect other visitors and they will be aware of this and probably don't want to monopolise visiting time for other families with heightened security etc

She is old to and probably equally wiped out from hours on her feed in the cold with no drinks or toilet breaks! She might not be up to it!

MsKittyFane Broadsheets dear and not a lot of money in it esp when featuring in alcoholism Grin

monkey I think Phillip is in the 'Royal hospital suite' not a mixed sex geriatric ward! :o
Security sealed with private entrance, exit. Guarded by men in bearskin hats (whatever they're called)!

Bossybritches22 · 08/06/2012 20:23

Edward was there on Monday, they got a message to the press to stop us all speculating he'd snuffed it! Grin

I think as well I remember reading years ago that they are concious that the hospitals have other patients who don't want their families to be papped, or the staff inconvenienced over much so they try & keep a low profile. Bet she speaks to him evey day though.

This is the worst week for him to be ill, any other week she could offload onto Prince Charles et al but all these commonwealth bods have come over to see HER & its not so easy just to swan orf to visit one's DH!

sensuallettuce · 08/06/2012 20:23

Wonder why he went to hospital really - surely easier to have medical team at home? Not like they don't have the room?

MsKittyFane · 08/06/2012 20:24

sensual I'd only be good for the tabloids. I'm sure they don't even leave the office for research. Just sit at their desk making things up a bit like me now
:o

Bossybritches22 · 08/06/2012 20:24

x-post with monkeymama sorry!

MsKittyFane · 08/06/2012 20:27

I'm also wondering why he's in hospital if it's 'not serious'
They surely have their own team of doctors/ home care for non serious matters. I would guess he's not well at all :(

sensuallettuce · 08/06/2012 20:30

Guess at 90 anything is serious - if I was the Queen I'd have my own hosp within the Palace and not mix with all the chaff and risk MRSA Grin.

Can you just imagine the press they'd get if they had their own hospital bed and monitors in Windsor Castle etc. etc. even if they did pay for it all themselves.

sensuallettuce · 08/06/2012 20:34

Yes Grin

"I think as well I remember reading years ago that they are concious that the hospitals have other patients who don't want their families to be papped, or the staff inconvenienced over much so they try & keep a low profile."

That is my experience of working somewhere where a member of the royal family was admitted. They were very conscious of it.

MsKitty its not always that simple, particularly if they require any critical care.

MsKittyFane · 08/06/2012 20:37

Who would know! If I were her majesty I would build my own palace hospital :o

sensuallettuce · 08/06/2012 20:38

Whisch member Monkey? Grin

OP posts:
monkeymoma · 08/06/2012 20:41

as if Grin
I've never told much more than that really
they were very considerate relatives, never wanted to get in the way of other relatives or our jobs

MsKittyFane · 08/06/2012 20:41

Don't tell her monkey she's got connections with the press! :o

sensuallettuce · 08/06/2012 20:43

Hahaha!!! Grin

MsKittyFane · 08/06/2012 20:49

PANIC OVER!! The Mail reliably informs us here who has visited and when. They don't report on the Queen's visits because it's top secret.

RedBlanket · 08/06/2012 20:55

Well it's not like shes got to drop in a Clean pair of PJ's for him every day.
