apparently she has said many times she took her inspiration from the local lady of the night that was in her town and she thought she was beautiful Grin

ZillionChocolate · 08/06/2012 17:34

Did go to the Grand Ol' Opry

AGiraffeUnderTheFloorBoards · 08/06/2012 17:38

YANBU - I love Dolly. Go watch her singing "I will always love you" on Youtube and try not to bawl. Islands in the Stream was my wedding dance - though I felt a bit of fool as had just been done on Gavin & Stacy.

She's seriously clever, talented and seems like a lot of fun - a proper girls' girl even though her huge fake boobies might make you think the opposite.

albertswearengen · 08/06/2012 17:43

I didn't know until last week that 'Islands in the Stream' was written by the Bee Gees.

RedBlanket · 08/06/2012 17:46

I want to love her Grin. I love the few songs I know. C'mon - share a few YouTube links to the best ones to get me started!

Alphabetsy · 08/06/2012 21:58

I too lurve Dolly. Recently realised I'd being playing Jolene in the car far too much when my 5 yr old DS described his ginger haired friend as the one with 'flaming locks of auburn hair'! :)

Pedallleur · 08/06/2012 22:07

Not my thing but a true rags to riches story and I suspect she is a hard as nails business woman when it comes to her brand. But she's survived in a hard business, amde a great career and influnced a generation of performers in that ilk

Alambil · 08/06/2012 22:08

Little Sparrow and Coat of Many Colours make me cry...

LOVE Dolly.

Chelly71 · 08/06/2012 22:25

Love her and.... Met her! But I didn't realise at the time. Me and dh were at a wedding in missisippi(sp?) and in a big casino hotel. Got in a lift and 'dolly' said 'wow, you look amazing in that dress'. We chatted and I saw her agin later and we chatted about winning on the slots. I was pissed a bit drunk and told everyone about the dolly lookilike. The next morning we noticed she was headlining at the casino next door Blush

I could have had a real moment with her... My greatest regret

Armi · 08/06/2012 22:52

Ahem....Sky channel 168, Dolly on right now.
