I know it is a tv programme and I know where the off switch is.

But the story line where jean has been conned out of thousands of pounds, then Michael making out her bipolar symptoms are becoming out of control.

Why whats going to happen to Janice's baby?

rainydaysarebad · 07/06/2012 20:32

Hahaha my phone auto corrected janine to Janice - that's what Kim calls her!

LadyBeagleEyes · 07/06/2012 20:34

I watched a bit of East Enders when it first started.
It is seriously the most depressing, least life affirming programme that ever existed.
I used to watch Coronation Street too, as they had light and shade.
Unfortunately, it went the way of utterly miserable, controversial story lines.
It does seem to be what the British Public wants, but if the EE theme tune comes on, I practically run to turn it off.

raindropsinmyhair · 07/06/2012 20:34

If Sean is coming back- well, that would make my day Wink Shame he had to leave The Hobbit but would love to see him back on the Square!

raindropsinmyhair · 07/06/2012 20:35

Does something happen to Janine's baby?! Sad

drummerswife · 07/06/2012 20:37

the storyline re michael and janines wedding gets on my nerves
i hope sean does come back

booksandchoc · 07/06/2012 20:38

I don't watch EE much but read on a FB page (Count The Kicks charity page) that Janine has a stillbirth on her wedding day. Was Confused and Sad after the baby swap story that they would do this.

LadyBeagleEyes · 07/06/2012 20:40

It's East Enders booksandchoc.
Anything to make you feel suicidal Grin

pumpkinsweetie · 07/06/2012 20:41

Thanx for info i will no longer be watching it, everything is doom & floor but for them to show another baby death Sad, i would rather miss it, not exactly entertaining and if its anything like the swap storyline it will not be handled well

pumpkinsweetie · 07/06/2012 20:42

Gloom i mean

PuffPants · 07/06/2012 20:44

Seriously, best thing I ever did, tv-wise, was giving up EE. Most depressing thing on the box. I just don't understand why anyone wants to absorb it.

Switch to Corrie: lighter touch, vastly better written, better acted and just generally a bit cheerier.

Sleepydog · 07/06/2012 20:46

It's doom and gloom and 7.30pm in my opinion is too early for it to be on .

Wow I can't believe they'd do another baby death story. How sad :(

pumpkinsweetie · 07/06/2012 20:52

There is no happiness in EE at all, i cant remember the last time anything remotely happy happened in it!??
Consider myself EE out, they will lose viewers if they carry on down this path of depressive viewing

rainydaysarebad · 07/06/2012 20:56

Yeah, the one funny person they had in it was killed off!! Heather trott that is!! She was hilarious but even her storylines became morbid. I notice new characters in ee come into the soap happy or rich and a few months in they're sad or poor.

FormerlyTitledUntidy · 07/06/2012 20:57

Oh no :( poor Janine. I really felt for her when Pat died. She is totally fucked up but not evil like Michael.

McHappyPants2012 · 07/06/2012 21:02

Ffs another baby death story, well that's it EE is now deleted off my box.

YANBU. The Jean and Michael story line is making me feel uncomfortable. I've watched EE since I was little enough to remember "staying up late" to watch with my parents. I've switched off now. I have a lot of personal experience with bipolar and watching the lastest episode made my stomach turn.

LibrarianByDay · 07/06/2012 22:01

I agree with Sleepydog - it is grim, depressing, and on way too early in the evening. If it was solely my decision it would never be on in this house but, sadly, DH is a big EE fan. I hate that my children are subjected to this crap when I'm at work. :(

Whatevertheweather · 07/06/2012 22:07

My Sands Fb group also posted saying that Janine's baby is stillborn but i've googled and googled and can't find anything to substantiate it. It also says she is 28 weeks pregnant which is just not possible as she had announced her pregnancy in November/December. I'm 28 weeks and got my bfp in January at 4 weeks pg!

Agree Jean is a fantastic actress but it does make uncomfortable watching. Michael is pure evil, reminds me of a reptile.

hazchem · 07/06/2012 22:08

I think that may be the end for EE and I. I'm leaving the country in October anyway so was going to have to stop watching then anyway but I don;t think I could handle another horrible baby story line.

DesperatelySeekingSedatives · 07/06/2012 22:09

The Jean storyline makes me so angry. She is a brilliant actress as is evil Michael, I just hate how Jean is treated and spoken to, purely because she has MH issues. It is however realistic- people in RL often treat those with MH issues like shit Sad

ishopthereforeiam · 08/06/2012 02:23

I really hope that storyline with Janine and a stillbirth doesn't occur, enough damage was done with the babyswap line (I had dd at around the same time and was awful to watch) and then killing of Hev is more than enough!
