AIBU to think that it doesn't actually take much to start a thread...?

And even less to respond to one?

Especially on a wet Bank Holiday.

So anyone saying "why do you care so much?" should realise that it actually takes only a very very tiny amount of caring to start or respond to a thread, and that the person they are talking to probably doesn't care "so much" at all.

I mean, I'm starting this thread and I really don't care very much at all, but I can't be bothered to get off the sofa to find some other entertainment.

Oh, it takes nothing to respond. I couldn't give a fig. But no matter how bored I am, I think very very carefully before starting one. Anything could happen, and I'm too much of a wussl

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 05/06/2012 15:19

wussl? wuss

TheVermiciousKnid · 05/06/2012 15:19

It always amazes me that people who respond 'why do you care so much' actually care enough to respond. Not that I care enough to actually write that down...

Trills · 05/06/2012 15:20

Anything could happen? Well that sounds exciting!

OP posts:
Shutupanddrive · 05/06/2012 15:20

Who cares? Grin

LoopyLoopsCorgiPoops · 05/06/2012 15:22

YANBU. Those replies piss me off. Why do you care so much to bother to type 'why do you care so much?'? We're all here, idling away a bit of time. If we all cared so bloody much we'd be doing it (whatever it is0 not musing on the internet with a bunch of pretend people.

enimmead · 05/06/2012 15:24

I just wish there was an edit button. Would make life easier.

Or a like button.

YompingJo · 05/06/2012 15:25

I'm not pretend, I just checked.

And I love the username, Vernicious

And I care. But only about the Raisin and Biscuit Yorkie I'm eating as a treat for having such a shite day in town. Not about much else right now.

Nagoo · 05/06/2012 15:25

it takes something I don't have... the ability to remember what it was I wanted to start a thread about Grin

I can usually knee-jerk out a response to pretty much anything.

TheMonster · 05/06/2012 15:26

It's not wet here.

Trills · 05/06/2012 15:28

MN moves too fast to have an edit button. Think of the trolling potential.

OP: AIBU to like kittens?
1st reply: YANBU, I love them too

2 mins later

Edited OP: AIBU to like Nazis?
1st reply: YANBU, I love them too
2nd reply: OMG 1st person you are so wrong!

Even if the edited OP said "Edited at " and showed the original and the edited versions, it would be confusing to read responses (especially YABU/YANBU responses) and not be sure which version they had read.

Agreed, posted a bit of a winge this morning, got accused of getting too worked up about my issue. Was just a bit bored working at home.

EclecticShock · 05/06/2012 15:30

Agree :)

SleepingDogz · 05/06/2012 15:31

if i dont care about something, i dont start a thread about it or respond to it

im not glued to MN there are plenty of other good forums and websites to look at when MN because just too nonsensical (which is usually after about 6 and a half minutes for me)

Trills · 05/06/2012 15:34

But there's a continuum of caring, Dogz.

Depending on my mood it can only require a teeny tiny soupçon of caring.

OP posts:
LadyTeeAndBiscuits · 05/06/2012 15:46

I never care. You're all just words on a screen. Or maybe in my head. Depends on if I've taken my meds.

HecateTrivia · 05/06/2012 17:21

oh god. Are we only supposed to post worthy or important things now? Is there talk of First World Problems.

Trills · 05/06/2012 17:26

I enjoy talking about first world problems.

For example, my nailvarnish that I thought was pale blue appears to be slightly purplish blue, so can I wear it with a green top? I thought it was blue-blue, not purple-blue.

OP posts:
LadyTeeAndBiscuits · 05/06/2012 17:32

You will be arrested if you do, I have it on good authority.

My main first world problem is tomorrow is the first new parents' meeting at my son's school. This means meeting the other parents.

Problem one: What to wear.

Problem two: My nail polish is chipped, it's Gel, can I be arsed to take it off tonight? (It's a French Manicure so it's not that obvious if you don't look closely.)

Problem three: What to wear!!!!

2pm at the school. Son will not be with us as he is at daycare tomorrow. I will be working from home.

SO WHAT DO I WEAR?!?!?!?!

::breathes::

ChaoticismyLife · 05/06/2012 17:37

Clothes Grin

HTH

Trills · 05/06/2012 17:40

Jeans and a nice top of course.

Don't wear a shit top.

OP posts:
LadyTeeAndBiscuits · 05/06/2012 17:46

Jeans. Okay. I can do jeans.

Not leggings with a tunic top? Too 'dressy'?

ARGH! First Child In School Syndrome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Trills · 05/06/2012 17:50

I was just being silly Tee - "Jeans and a nice top" is a stock phrase and it's funny because of course you wouldn't wear a top that wasn't nice.

OP posts:
Trills · 05/06/2012 17:50

Just wear clothes. Not scruffy clothes, not dressy clothes (unless you're doing something afterwards that requires them), just clothes.

OP posts:
LadyTeeAndBiscuits · 05/06/2012 17:51

I dunno, Trills...I've heard about the school gate style competition...not that I could ever compete as I basically live in jeans. I do work from home, after all.
