Are the self appointed Thread Police just lonely people who have no other way of expressing their power crazed tendencies?

Or are they just unhealthily obsessed in their determination to keep everything neat and tidy? at the same time as indulging in their infatuation of telling other people what do do

I'm not sure what I think.

'If you were moaning about people going onto a serious thread where the OP was upset about something and saying "you're posting in the wrong place" then you might have a point, But nobody is doing that.'

I've seen that happen Trills, and the Grammar Nazis seem to have an uncanny nack of making the OP feel worse on sensitive threads as well.

You my have seen that happen but that's not what you are talking about here. Therefore you are being unreasonable (even though you didn't ask, and of course especially because you didn't ask Wink)

JoanOfNark · 05/06/2012 13:23

As I've repeatedly said, it doesn't. But its not surprising that someone as apparently arrogant as you insists on assigning emotions to people when you've already been told they don't hold them.

out the door, line on the left, one cross each

kitcatcandy · 05/06/2012 13:25

I used 'the boy' on my last topic instead of DS. won't be doing that again...

AgentZigzag · 05/06/2012 13:25

I sneer at your accusation of arrogance Joan.

I always imagine the thread Police to look like clones of Norris from Corrie

But with a slightly more sinister air about them

Making drooling noises as they sit in a dark, damp basement flat...surrounded by manky cats and searching through boards thread by thread, looking for something to report with their long, spindly, yellowing fingers Grin

(hurry up and get to the singing Greensleeves)

What if I want two crosses? I don't want one bicep to develop more than the other!

I do find it strange when people post on MN (especially on AIBU, when you are inviting people to disagree with you) and then start saying "why do you care so much?" or "I seem to have hit a nerve" when people actually do come on and discuss the issue with them and (shockingly) disagree.

Surely caring enough to respond to a thread is a smaller amount of caring than caring enough to start a thread, and even that could be a pretty small amount of caring, depending on how bored you are and if there's anything good on TV.

I was bored sneering and being nasty on my own Trills.

I needed validation.

Because of course we all know that AIBU really stands for "Come and agree with me" :)

AgentZigzag · 05/06/2012 14:21

And the plethora of passive aggressive remarks Trills Smile
