To think my friend was out of order?

My friend and i were out yesterday and all the dc had apack of crisps. Her ds is 9 and her dd is 2 and they are both big eaters and ate their crisps quickly.
My dd who is 10 eats slowly and still had some crisps left.
Her dc were asking her for some and she said no so my friend told her that she should share and was quite shirty with her.

Thats not sharing is it? If they all had the same to start with why should they get to eat hers too? grrrr. Am i right?

Yes, you are right. I am surprised anyone would think otherwise. Her kids should have been told not to be so greedy.

carabos · 02/06/2012 10:50

YANBU. That's not sharing, it's greed.

TheCunningStunt · 02/06/2012 10:50

The issue isn't the sharing, it's her being shirty with your dd. That would get my back up, and I would have said to dd it was her choice and no one else's. Smile

helloclitty · 02/06/2012 10:51

YANBU
Did you tell her that she was being unreasonable?

GoldenGreen · 02/06/2012 10:51

Yanbu in any way.

RecursiveMoon · 02/06/2012 10:52

You're right! No wonder her kids eat quickly Grin. Plus a 2 year old eating a bag of crisps Confused.

pictish · 02/06/2012 10:52

Yanbu.

MrsHuxtable · 02/06/2012 10:54

YANBU. I hate greed!

ledkr · 02/06/2012 10:56

I did yes,i said to dd no dont give them any they have had theirs. Friend then said "well if you dont share you wont have any of the sweets later" I told her to stick the sweets up her arse and took dd home.

I think the friendship has run its course tbh,her ds's behaviour is so bad I cant be around them, she asked my advice on his bad behaviour so i know she knows Hmm

Well there you go then. Best off out of it I reckon.

ledkr · 02/06/2012 10:58

She has text me a jovial text o see if we are meeitng up for the jubilee party in town. I said I was going on my own as needed some time with the dd's.

Thanks pic we have been friends for years but Im worried about her ds affecting my dd's. He bullies dd1 all the time and Mum says nothing.

I think you've made the right choice here. She sounds like a dick.

hermioneweasley · 02/06/2012 11:02

Doesn't sound like a loss. Enjoy time with your dds

GrahamTribe · 02/06/2012 11:03

"I did yes,i said to dd no dont give them any they have had theirs. Friend then said "well if you dont share you wont have any of the sweets later" I told her to stick the sweets up her arse and took dd home."

Bloody good for you! It's times like this that I really wish MN had a "like" button. Grin

You weren't being in the least unreasonable but your friend damn sure was.

pictish · 02/06/2012 11:03

I've ditched a couple of mates in my time, owing to their kids' behaviour.
Some people might say "some mate YOU are!" - but I'd say life is too short.

ineedanewstart · 02/06/2012 11:05

i got this with my DNeice, she would regularly scoff hers and then ask to share my DD's who eats slowly.

I pointed out that these are DD's but she said.... but thats not fair I dont have any. I said yes you do , they are in your tummy not in the packet, but they are still there!

pictish · 02/06/2012 11:06

Or rather...owing to the lack of discipline, so that every meet up is under sufferance.
You take the time to teach your children manners, then have to sit there while other kids do what they like with no recriminations, having a crap, frought time of it.
Nah.

HecateTrivia · 02/06/2012 11:07

oh yes, bin her. she sounds like a right pain in the arse.

and bloody well done you. "stick your sweets up your arse" [massive amounts of respect emoticon]

youarekidding · 02/06/2012 11:11

Loving "stick your sweets up your arse" Grin

I just cannot fathom how anyone could think your DD had to share when they all had the same - and believe me I've been trying to figure it out.

roundtable · 02/06/2012 11:12

Loving the "stick your sweets up your arse" comment.

Grin
roundtable · 02/06/2012 11:13

Sorry op, you're definitely not being unreasonable.

I'm still chucking about the sweets!

ledkr · 02/06/2012 11:17

I felt a bit bad on the way home when dd1 was literally falling about laughing and repeating "stick your sweets up your arse" I told her that it wasnt a very nice thing to say and that she musn't repeat it. She tried to be serious and then burst out laughing which made me laugh so hard that tears were running down our faces. Dh gave me a Hmm face when I told him but also started laughing.

The best bit was the baby laughing along as if she could understand Grin

Thanks i feel better now. Stupid woman.

Yes. Stupid woman.
I wish I could have seen her face.

cuttingpicassostoenails · 02/06/2012 11:43

Oh dear ledkr...I have a feeling that your DD will be dining out on this story for many years. It's going to go viral. She will still be telling it when she's ninety..."Ooohhhh, you'll never guess what your great, great granny said when I was nobbut a tot......"
