My friend and i were out yesterday and all the dc had apack of crisps. Her ds is 9 and her dd is 2 and they are both big eaters and ate their crisps quickly.
My dd who is 10 eats slowly and still had some crisps left.
Her dc were asking her for some and she said no so my friend told her that she should share and was quite shirty with her.

Thats not sharing is it? If they all had the same to start with why should they get to eat hers too? grrrr. Am i right?

Ledr, your daughter sounds lovely, glad you saw the funny side of it. Love the story, its great.

I want a like button too.

dexterthecat · 02/06/2012 12:29

I have this all the time with my DS's. DS2 will eat sweets, crisps etc really really fast and then want some of DS1's who eats things really slowly and also 'saves' things for later (he still has all his Easter eggs and sweets intact which I think I am going to have to bin!!!)

And no I wouldn't tell DS1 to 'share' his because DS2 has eaten all his!

Noqontrol · 02/06/2012 12:36

Good for you. Your friend sounds like a twat.

Longdistance · 02/06/2012 12:46

That did make me giggle 'stick your sweets up your arse'.
Good on you though. I can invisage you and dd's laughing you heads off on the way home in the car :)

TheFallenMadonna · 02/06/2012 12:55

You are of course right.

However, people who eat really slowly are v annoying. Especially when they make a big deal of still having some left when you have finished.

And I am thinking of DH here rather than your DD...

Grrr

Mrsjay · 02/06/2012 13:00

it sounds like she is allowing her children to be greedy disguised as sharing a lot of parents do this , her kids finished theres and wanted somebody elses Hmm DD has a friend like this drives her up the wall she will scoff sweets and just help herself to whatever the other girls have then declare them selfish for telling her to get lost ,

Floggingmolly · 02/06/2012 14:18

You're well shot of this idiot.

bochead · 02/06/2012 18:00

Fairness is important to kids. That's not sharing, that's encouraging greed on the part of your friend. They aren't a pack of wolves they are children.

Good for you too!

Your daughter will tell her grandkids about the day you said "stick your sweets up your arse!".

RepublicaEuphemia · 02/06/2012 19:22

Fabulous! My DD is the same age and I love the times when we laugh so much we cry!

Those are what family life is about!

curiousgeorgie · 02/06/2012 19:26

RecursiveMoon - whats wrong with a 2 year old having a bag of crisps? My 20 month old occasionally has a bag of quavers and it's not doing her any harm!

tadjennyp · 02/06/2012 19:52

Tee-hee ledkr! That is so funny. Grin Yan at all bu.

You could make a song out of it - stick your sweets up your arse, stick a deckchair up your nose! Grin

ENormaSnob · 02/06/2012 20:00

Yadnbu

Well rid.

Marshy · 02/06/2012 20:02

it's a bag of crisps - you are friends - get over it

Floggingmolly · 02/06/2012 20:24

Really, Marshy?. Do you really think it's all about the op not wanting to share her crisps? Hmm

lovebunny · 02/06/2012 20:25

you are right.

FoofyShmooffer · 02/06/2012 20:31

Yanbu.

Nah Marshy it's not just about the crisps at all.

Well done OP. Grin much admiration.

RecursiveMoon · 02/06/2012 20:35

Sorry curious, I think I wrote that when it was too early this morning Smile.

Marshy · 02/06/2012 20:35

I speed read the thread - guess I missed something!

ledkr · 02/06/2012 21:42

Thanks girls. I was keeping quiet about the crisps tbh,dd2 has crisps and she is 16 months Blush not too often though Grin

Marshy Its not just about crisps its about her never ever saying no to her dc and the impact that has on my dd who I do say no to, and about telling my dd that she couldnt have any of her manky sweets if she didnt give her dc's her crisps despite them all having the same.
