to think that Steve Backshall doesn't really give a dam about kids

My DC are massive Deadly Sixty fans, booked tickets on the announcement day for the Steve Backshall Tour and got front row seats. The date has been on the calendar for months.

But got an email today saying they have cancelled the performance as not enough people bought tickets. There is another performance that day, but we can?t change. DCs are devastated.

The venue is Warwick Arts Centre and it will be open for other things anyway. The stage will need to be set and taken down for the other performance that day. In other words, I can?t see that they would make a huge loss by going ahead.

AIBU to be pissed off that profits always come first.

Tory I have other plans for that day (Matilda the show in London for my 40th birthday, but tickets not bought) otherwise I would be quite happy to take creamteas DC's.

I am having one hell of a dilemma here!!!!

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 02/06/2012 19:15

Xpost with jenai

lynette are you available to perv babysit?

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 02/06/2012 19:15

How long would they have to wait around outside though, whilst the letch MNer prostrated herself inside outside his dressing room?

Won't somebody please think about the children?

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 02/06/2012 19:16

Lynette, I'll do Matilda, darling Tim the shagmuffin might be there and available for me to lick to meet Grin

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 02/06/2012 19:17

Actually thinking about it, there's be no prostrating involved it'd all be up against a wall .

DH doesn't want to go to Matilda or to see Steve B. Confused

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 02/06/2012 19:20

Send him on ahead Lynette to order a post coital extra marital cocktail for when you're done. [wise]

Moln · 02/06/2012 19:37

Wow!

Hold on I'LL take creamtesettes. lynette could possibly miss Matilda, seeing her DH won't go, she can go with HoneyDragon.

I won't hear anything else and have already book the flights to the UK - I'm unselfish like that

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 02/06/2012 19:42

Lynette I am actually being ever so slightly serious here.

It is also my 40th this year and I would enjoy either Tim or Steve (as would ds, only in a different way clearly). I think we should arrange an MN outing!

ginmakesitallok · 02/06/2012 19:56

We need steve to so a live web-chat - with live webcam so we can all shout at him to take his top off.....

He's visiting us in July - think DD is too young to go - could maybe make a girl's night out of it?

Moln · 02/06/2012 21:49

He might feel a little harrassed during a live web chat (or he might take his top off)

Who is Tim btw, feel like I missed something - is he something to do with Matilda? I know nothing more about Matilda other than it's existance.

I might wander over to the website and have a little moment of appriciation

LynetteScavo · 03/06/2012 08:37

I don't get the attraction myself

I have put a lot of pressure on DH to agree to go to Matilda. I'm convinced he will enjoy it when he gets there.

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 03/06/2012 08:52

I think he's actually prettier without the bright blue contacts and back comb though [weird & contrary emoticon]

Poola · 05/06/2012 16:36

Thanks all, best giggle I've had in ages....not sure if Stevie B would actually know what to do with some of you if you were unleashed, I fear for his safety.
Now off to find a focus in my life because SB is taking up too much time.......now, where did I leave my Mrs Backshall T-shirt?! :o

dubbada · 05/06/2012 18:14

YABU im sorry you didnt get to see the show we did and he kindly stayed on extra to do a meet and greet with the kids he is one of the most genuine person ive ever met, bad planning by production team but not his fault

LetUsPrey · 05/06/2012 20:13

Right. I might be a teeny bit drunk but if you look at my name, I am a Steve Backshall t-shirt. I would soooo love to be stretched across his chest and the rest of him

LetUsPrey · 05/06/2012 20:13

Sorry, I'll just sit in the corner.

Moln · 05/06/2012 22:10

Grin LetUsPray

It's a little bit of an usual approach but I can see where you are coming from.

difficultpickle · 05/06/2012 22:14

I'd be surprised if SB had much of a say in cancelling. He's a friend of someone ds (7) knows and seems very child friendly (not that I've managed to meet him yet Envy). I do know where he lives (village rather than actual house - I'm not stalking him so far!).

LetUsPrey · 05/06/2012 22:25

Just to clarify the whole name t-shirt thing. My MN name is taken from a t-shirt SB wore. Hence the being stretched across his chest etc comment.

Moln · 07/06/2012 21:14

OK that makes a little more sense LetUsPray

Much excitement in our house today, DS2 got a mini Steve figure AND he told me I was allowed to play with it 'because you love him too Mammy'

Oh I do DS2, I do
