oh i just had a bit of a passive aggresive arguement with my sister AGAIN she is very close to mum she still lives at home , and ive just read another FB status me and mum been for lunch ,
I never get invited to anything they do and my mum does nothing to include me in their relationship , I said to my sister next time you go for lunch let me know im usually free
, I said her today oh i wish you had said i didnt know you and mum were off work , she said i thought you would be busy , so on it went me saying oh its FINE maybe next time , I know i am sounding a jealous sibling and probably am but im really fed up of being excluded and a little hurt ,

YANBU, you are perfectly reasonable being upset and put out.

Mrsjay · 01/06/2012 14:46

Thank you i always excuse them because sister still lives at home but it does upset me

YANBU to feel that way, at all.

Please learn how to use a comma properly. No spaces are required!

Cockwomble · 01/06/2012 15:15

YANBU. Say something to them - my friend is currently in this kind of situation and it's very upsetting.

Mrsjay · 01/06/2012 15:19

I really don't know what to say to them apart from oh I wish I had known i would have come, sister has just text asking if i want to go for a coffee I have tried to arrange things with them before but they are always busy TBH before facebook i would probably be none the wiser what they did ,

sorry sorry for the comma space i type very fast I consider myself told Grin

You cheeky cow katespade! who made you the punctuation police. Put me right off my reply.

molepom · 01/06/2012 15:59

Sod the punctuation, the OP is upset and pissed off with every single right to be.

OP, no you are not being unreasonable. Talk to your mum about it without your sister in the same room, maybe offer to take your mum out or meet her somewhere.

pumpkinsweetie · 01/06/2012 16:02

YANBU- i can see why you are fed up, you should feel included.

Ithinkitsjustme · 01/06/2012 16:07

YANBU, but why not invite them both out for lunch and when you are there (assuming they come) say something like "This is really nice, we should make it a regular thing"

puds11 · 01/06/2012 16:12

Katespade get a hobby.
Mrsjay i think i remember you posting about this before. YANBU, i think its mean what they do to you. They dont sound like very nice people and if i was you i wouldnt bother with them anymore. They clearly dont think very highly of you Sad
Their loss.

becstarsky · 01/06/2012 16:17

Actually I think from what you've said YAB a tiny bit U. They should be able to go out for lunch together without you feeling jealous ? especially if she still lives at home with your Mum. I do agree with ithinkitsjustmes idea of inviting them both around to yours for lunch. And invite your mum out for coffee ? rather than waiting for them to invite you to things and feeling bad when they don?t. And your sister has just texted and invited you for coffee - so go for coffee, and be nice to her, and say how nice it is of her to invite you out. Then she will probably do it more often.

Of course I don't know much about you so I may be talking utter rubbish. Feel free to ignore me!

Catsdontcare · 01/06/2012 16:20

God why do people correct people's grammar on here it's such a twatty, up your own arse thing to do.

Catsdontcare · 01/06/2012 16:21

Oh and op yanbu to feel hurt and left out.

Birdsgottafly · 01/06/2012 16:22

Stop saying that it is fine, when it clearly isn't.

Let your mum know that you feel left out, as well as your sister.

Why don't you organise something, either with your sister present or not, pointing out that you are not getting time with your mum.

I spemd more time with my mum having meals etc because my sister never lets us know whether she is available or shows enthusiasm about eating out. Lately she has been complaining, but we are not physic.

puds11 · 01/06/2012 16:24

I, completely, agree, Cats, its, just, twattish,

pumpkinsweetie · 01/06/2012 16:28

Grin pumpkin

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 01/06/2012 16:35

In point of fact, not that many years ago, spaces were placed each side of commas, and colons, and semicolons ; thus. If you read an old book, from before about the 1930s, you can often see them punctuated with spaces.
Oh and YANBU OP, it's a shame they don't think to ask you if you would like to go to. Even if you said no, it would still be nice to be asked.

usualsuspect · 01/06/2012 16:39

OP,YANBU

KateSpade, YABU

PandaWatch · 01/06/2012 16:46

YADNBU but how about you arrange a lunch for the three of you as a start? I know you shoudn't have to but if you make the extra effort it may make them think about you more.

5Foot5 · 01/06/2012 16:49

OP - YANBU to feel annoyed and maybe it would help if you didn't let them think it was fine but let rip just a little bit and let them know how you feel.

Reading this, though, just reinforced for me why I just do not get FB and am simply not tempted in to it. So you sister updates her status to say she has been out for lunch. Why should the world and his wife, or even her "friends" want to know that or care? The only person, probably, who is interested in that information is you, OP, and you are certainly no better of for knowing. Do people think their lives are not valid unless they have documented it online?

I just don't get it, I just don't get it......

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 01/06/2012 16:53

Wow, people really are boring. Who is the wide wide world of sport gives a flying f about who went to lunch with whom (I mean, obviously you care, OP, and YANBU, but really, why is your DSis posting this??)

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 01/06/2012 16:54

who in the wide world of sport

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 01/06/2012 16:55

Aaah I see I have echoed 5foot5

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 01/06/2012 16:58

P.S I would ditch Facebook. It seems to make as many people unhappy as it makes happy
