I thought your post was going in the direction of your DH jumping off the wardrobe in passion in it OAM Grin

lol at OAM2009 and her man of steel!

Bluestocking · 19/05/2012 20:56

My niece and all her little mates wore theirs on the coach on the way to their skiing trip in France. They looked hilarious!

Hownoobrooncoo · 19/05/2012 20:56

I remember the fad for wearing those old granny slippers out and about. The ones usually in brownish tartan with the zip up the front and fleecy on the inside. Twas the height of coolness.

IAmBooyhoo · 19/05/2012 20:57

oh i want a 3 week old one!

i made the mistake of sorting through ds2's newborn clothes on thursday evening. been broody ever since. Sad

IAmBooyhoo · 19/05/2012 20:58

Emandlu · 19/05/2012 20:59

Well I haven't had to wear it out of the house yet AgentZigzag

Darkling · 19/05/2012 21:00

I saw a woman in an american flag onesie in the shopping centre the other day, the security guards were all sniggering at her when she walked past their desk, she looked a right sight.

AgentZigzag · 19/05/2012 21:00

DH used a couple of 2 YO DD2s old babygrows as rags last weekend.

How could he violate them thus?? Angry

Oh yes. YABU. You should have spent all day glued to mumsnet like me. Wink If you come over all unnecessary and go into that outdoors thingie, you deserve everything you get.

Sunscorch · 19/05/2012 21:25

Oh, man.
"Embarrass your children" is emphatically not rule 34.
Grin

AgentZigzag · 19/05/2012 21:30

The Great Outdoors holds no pleasure for me Hecate, I was out purely to find something for bored MNs to wedgie hoik to.

Mission of mercy.

OP posts:
AgentZigzag · 19/05/2012 21:30

Is that how you spell hoik? Doesn't look right.

OP posts:
AgentZigzag · 19/05/2012 21:31

In previous editions it was number 16 sunscorch, maybe that's what you're thinking of?

"I was out purely to find something for bored MNs to wedgie hoik to."

It's an important job, and someone's got to do it.

We are in your debt :)

LittlePicnic · 19/05/2012 21:38

What is a onesie? A jumpsuit or play suit? Surely they don't make adult sized babygrows? Am I really that out of touch??? I would like an adult sized grobag to sleep in though.

bruffin · 19/05/2012 21:40

Ds 16 and dd 14 have tiger onesies. Ds has been seen in Camden in his

MsVestibule · 19/05/2012 21:42

Oh Babylon. Wish you hadn't talked about snuggly 3 week old babies in babygros. It's me misty eyed, and my eyes get sore when I cry Sad.

Eyes DH in hopeful fashion, but he's more interested in the football.

LittlePicnic · 19/05/2012 21:42

I just googled it. Are these a joke? Or fancy dress in some way?

MsVestibule · 19/05/2012 21:50

Back to the thread; I'm past the broodiness now. How on earth am I supposed to keep up with these trends? I feel like I'm my Mum sometimes.

I think onesies became popular a few years ago when the finalists on X-factor all wore them during rehearsals, but I had no idea they'd actually made it onto the streets. Think I'd crash the car if I saw one.

NicNocJnr · 19/05/2012 21:51

The rule 34 of The Internet is what's being referred to I think. And yes definitely NOT embarras your children Blush

Possibly MN rules should take precedent here but I am unsure of the proper form.

I don't remember the slipper thing but tbf since I can rememer about 2 weeks everyone concerned is lucky if I make it our of the house wearing anything remotely resembling proper clothes. I'm currently getting a new dose of shame for getting all the way to my destination before remembering to put on a bra and pants - going commando I can do but letting the girls out unrestrained? No good can come of it! I wish I hadn't recalled that now.

AgentZigzag · 19/05/2012 21:58

'The rule 34 of The Internet is what's being referred to I think'

I was just making up a random parenting rulebook Grin

I'd like to get my hands on the copy of The Internet Rulebook, see what it says about whether going off topic is legit or an illegal hijack.

AgentZigzag - see reference to giggling once he's got it on

NicNocJr - as above, he might be a man of steel (nudge nudge Wink Wink) but the giggling will put paid to that as well Wink Grin

More importantly, is it BU for me to want a SuperWoman? Supergirl? onesie of my own so we can be superheroes together? Smile
