If someone calls your name from another room...

...and you respond with "Yeah? What's up?" (or something similar)

Do you expect the caller to continue the conversation/question, or would you expect to stop doing what you're doing and go to them?

DH and I argue about this. Caller should go to callee, unless there is a good reason (e.g. you have baby on changing table with nappy off and need something fetched urgently), in which case you explain that promptly and clearly.
Problem is, my parents hated shouted messages so we were brought up to go and find the person. DH was brought up just to shout what he wanted. We both think the other is very unreasonable but have decided to forgive each other by blaming it all on our parents.

If I am called into another room I expect at least one limb to be hanging off or a tiger attack. Missing socks do not cut the mustard.

(dd still has some exemptions at 2 but not many)
