Balked at the price but fell for their reputation. Weighing up whether to use it tonight or take it back tomorrow. (It was the largest sized bottle I bought btw, thought I'd better get best 'value').

I love dermalogica and buy from Beauty Flash.
I use ultra calming/age smart....dd 15 uses dermaclay.

You don't need to spend loads on a good cleanser but don't use baby wipes, htye just move the dirt around on your face and leave residue. I only use wipes if I'm too knackered/drunk to cleanse properly.

Use a hot flannel and the cleanser of your choice, gets rid of all the gunk and exfoliates too.

I use cleanser, serum, moisturiser. I deep cleanse my face at night but don't bother in the mornings.

You can get cleanser/toner and moisturiser for a couple of quid each so there is really no need to use baby wipes or make up wipes for that matter. I don't think it works out any cheaper. Also a cheap fash wash or exfoliator in the bath/shower is surely better than shower gel?

I am guessing some people may have good skin and doesn't matter what they use it will still look good. I have a stressful life/job and don't sleep well - I need all the help I can get Grin

Do face exercises like in Carole Maggio's latest book or use a flexaway system exerciser. The increased circulation to your face will help your skin too.
And stay out of the sun.

The Skin Smoothing cream keeps me skin very soft and supple. Even if I use another high end cream when I am travelling or in a pinch, I can tell the difference.

For those using shower gel and baby wipes on your skin - yikes! My skin would feel like a cheese grater if I did that.

glastocat · 21/05/2012 16:00

I agree with Lequeen, i think good skin is genetic. My mum is 64 and doesn't have any wrinkles, my granny was the same, so fingers crossed I'll be ok. My granny used only Ponds cold cream, and my mum takes her make up off with Astral cream, so if your skin is good there is no need for expensive potions (although they are lovely if you can afford them). If your skin is difficult, then of course these things may, or may not help.

squoosh · 21/05/2012 16:03

LucyGoose I too love Skin Smoothing Cream. It smooths like nothing else.

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 21/05/2012 16:06

I use Dermalogica and have the special cleansing gel, the microfoliant and all sorts of other 'stuff' it suits my skin and keeps it looking quite decent.

perceptionreality · 21/05/2012 16:12

I agree that good skin is genetic, but there are definitely things that speed up premature aging, particularly sun exposure and smoking. There have been identical twin studies which show environmental factors affect the rate of aging.

They are on offer currently in boots for 3 for 2, I got mine, however I only spent £35 on the face wash and the day and night cream. medium size bottles.

WopBopALooBop · 21/05/2012 16:18

I use Dermalogica as my skin is terrible and the lady who did my facials the few times I went talked me into it. I think the Dermalogica does kind of help, but I currently have loads of spots and awful depressing skin. I don't know, I might not re-stock when I run out. My big cleanser still has lots left in it after 10 months though, so that's not too bad - think of it in terms of cost per use! :)

toofattorun · 22/05/2012 22:38

FourYolksAche - I bought the Neutrogena face wash you recommended. I was disappointed to see there were no exfoliating granules but proceeded to rub it into my face. After a few seconds -KAPOW! IT'S FANTASTIC! Thanks for the recommendation. Have washed my face twice today just to get that feeling of your skin peeling off from acid overdose!

I bought the large bottle of special cleansing gel in the pump action bottle last August and it's only just running out. BUT I decant it into a smaller bottle because the pump action is very generous and you only need a tiny bit. I love it though.
