Forguve me, I now this is not an AIBU thread but there is more traffic here and I need advice quick.

DS has just come home from school and he has been rained on, he's soaked through, I've checked him over and he doesn't appear to be melting but you can never tell with these things can you.

Do you think he will be okay or should I get the hair driers out?

Thanks in advance, I am sure I will get some very helpful advice [tongue in cheek smiley]

Dunno - probably something to do with a Rainy Day Mac in some insane pattern.

bibbitybobbitybunny · 15/05/2012 16:07

Ask yourself:

What Would Jesus Do? - and the answer will come my child [beatific smile].

Quite frankly you seem to have a massive sense of entitlement [catsbummouth]

hippoCritt · 15/05/2012 16:10

Have you blogged about your experience? It may help others avoid such a devastating experience

MaisyMooCow · 15/05/2012 16:12

Does he have seaweed hanging from him?

Oops wrong thread!

HeadfirstForHalos · 15/05/2012 16:14

Pop him in the airing cupboard for an hour or two if you have one! But take the seaweed off him first, it will only go crispy.

WorraLiberty · 15/05/2012 16:17

Come home from School you say?

Sue them...it's clearly their fault.

EXmrsmascarahead · 15/05/2012 16:21

I am writing a letter to school ATM, I will be handing it to the head first thing tomorrow, how dare they do this to my PFS (precious first son) , I will be using the foaming at the mouth stabby finger technique, that'll learn em, I pay their feckin wages!!

Peter Andre would never let his kids get wet. He loves them too much.

And the orange radiation flowing from his skin evaporates rain before it can touch them.

whattodoo · 15/05/2012 16:38

At his age, he should be able to take responsibility for his own wet-ness.

Tell him to come back to you when he's got a real worry, like cream or jam first.

dondon33 · 15/05/2012 16:40

Ah I'm probably too late now and the poor little guy has shrunk to the size of a teddybear :(

You should have immediately tied him, kite like, to the car and drove like the wind to air him out (if of course it had stopped raining)
This has to be some form of neglect and I do hope someone gives him childlines number.
To redeem yourself OP, tomorrow send him in a wet suit, just in case.

EXmrsmascarahead · 15/05/2012 16:46

You are not too late, he is sitting in the bath as suggested up thread, he appears to suffering very little effects, especially after I took him out of the freezer.

Your suggestion regarding flying him like a kite is a good one, luckily I have a climbing harness and rope, so elf and safety is covered. Should I take him out of his wet clothing or air dry them at the same time?

I spilt coffee all over my laptop this morning and that got very wet. I tried drying it out with a hairdryer but it didn't work so don't try that.

The very nice man at the computer menders has now rung me and said he thinks he has dried it out so I could pm you with his number as he may be able to help your son.

FFS I think I coughed up a chunk of kidney laughing at that!! Grin Grin Grin

stompingthroughfields · 15/05/2012 16:54

School [hmmm] this wouldn't have happened if you he.

FuckingThorDaddyman · 15/05/2012 16:56

PALFHK would also make a double rainbow to guide them home and shower them with love. Every colour on the rainbow would be orange.

TheUnMember · 15/05/2012 16:56

Contact the head teacher. IMMEDIATELY! Demand action be taken.

Or you could put him in a jar of rice

WorraLiberty · 15/05/2012 16:58

To be honest OP

Your son is never going to be the same after this episode and he's also going to smell a bit damp and musty.

Is that the sort of child you want?!?!?

Get rid of him and get yourself a Hamster.

And before anyone accuses me of being too harsh, I'm only typing what you're all thinking but have been too scared to say Hmm

EXmrsmascarahead · 15/05/2012 17:00

Jar of rice? Is that a new type of paella?

Adayforthinking · 15/05/2012 17:03

If you put him in the microwave, make sure you shake him properly afterwards - you don't want hot spots!!

thebody · 15/05/2012 17:07

Sue school, head teacher, class teacher and governors also met office, any old selfish disabled people who park in the spaces u need for u and ds, actually sue God ( also Mohammed and shriva in interests of fairness and equality) and does your ds need counselling?

EXmrsmascarahead · 15/05/2012 17:07

He's not a bag of popcorn, he's a child, and you're calling me a bad mother!

OP posts:
blackcurrants · 15/05/2012 17:17

stoppit, stoppit, laughing this much hurts!

I think you should peg him out somewhere. much more environmentally sound than using a microwave/oven/tumbledryer/hairdryer.
