treat these as tights not trousers.

Look at your bum in the mirror to see if the leggings go see through and your cellulite/pants are visable.

Thank you.

ragingmull I didn't want to look at anyone's bottom, but quite frankly it was way to obvious to miss...........

giraffesCantGoPotholing · 12/05/2012 21:40

I am not!

I am in my car and they walk accross the road with their see through black material showing their jiggling posteriers, with white granny pants.

i dont want to see your arse!

you'd have thought we'd have all learnt from the last time leggings were all popular

BeNiceOrLeave · 12/05/2012 21:46

Trills you can't see my knickers!

I don't wear any.

SaveTheEmpire · 12/05/2012 22:06

I'm on the hunt for non-fally-downy, THICK leggings to wear with LONG tops. Quite enough people saw my nether regions during pregnancy and labour; now I'd like them to remain thoroughly covered.

But WHERE can they be FOUND???

Is it, in fact, jodhpurs that I need?

lunamoon · 12/05/2012 22:57

I wear leggings but only with dresses or long tops.
I might start wearing them as trousers though, just for the hell of it!!!!

BBQJuly · 12/05/2012 23:00

YANBU, it looks terrible but worse it's embarrassing because the culprit never seems to realise.

HecateTrivia · 12/05/2012 23:03

Oh yes. I saw a woman wearing a pair the other day. You could see her pants so clearly. I couldn't tear my eyes away Blush

She was wearing good big ones though. Not those awful flossing thong things. These were proper granny pants. Belly warmers.

It's just that you could see the full outline of them through the leggings. And the slight bulge of them because it was an extra layer, iyswim. They wouldn't have been much clearer if she'd have been wearing them on top of the leggings!

I always wonder if they know that their knickers can be seen or not, and if not, whether they'd want to know. But how do you go up to a strange woman and say "I can see your knickers" without getting a smack in the gob or a phone number

Lazydaisy55 · 13/05/2012 00:54

I teach in a high school where 6th formers wear "own clothes" , liking up stairs behind a 6th form girl I was "treated" to the sight of an eye on each side of her pants staring at me through her thin leggings/really tights.

Lazydaisy55 · 13/05/2012 00:55

Should have been walking upstairs!

MissLofPubia · 13/05/2012 01:28

I wear leggings and I think YADNBU!

SchrodingersMew · 13/05/2012 01:35

You all know that Primark are selling underwear with labels saying "worn to be seen" don't you?

So there is instructions, just not the ones you expect.

BustersOfDoom · 13/05/2012 01:47

YADNBU! I wear legging but only with a tunic/short dress and knee high boots. No one ever sees more than about four inches of legging and definitely no arse! There's no way I could wear leggings and something non-arse covering. Ever! Lower thigh length all the way. Unless you are 6 years old.

lunamoon · 13/05/2012 12:13

Lazydaisy-lol, probably serves you right for looking! although it is hard to avoid.
Same as when fat, grossly overweight men parade around without shirts on, makes me feel physically sick.

IsabelleRinging · 13/05/2012 12:18

YADNBU in the slightest!

Please, just for sake of my MIL (63) who thinks she looks great in her leggings and short jumpers.

Charliefarlie1192 · 13/05/2012 12:23

I wear thick black leggings with short-ish tops.....I normally make sure crotch and most of arse is covered but ya know what, without blowing my own trumpet I have got a good arse and good legs - dont see what the problem is IF you cant see underwear/cellulite/ladybits

Pontouf · 13/05/2012 12:35

I walked behind a young girl (probably 18ish) the other day who was wearing thin leggings with a long checked shirt BUT the shirt was tucked in to the leggings! It looked awful and utterly ridiculous. She had a fab slim figure but I could see her pants and the shirt caused a weird rumply waistline. Bizarre. Her much curvier mate looked infinitely better in thicker leggings with a short dress and long flat boots.

FrothyOM · 13/05/2012 15:41

YANBU I thought you were going to say see through.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 13/05/2012 15:53

There was a large but still smaller than me lady in leggings getting on the tram yesterday whose bum crack had devoured both her leggings and her knickers. There was no way she couldn't have felt the large amount of material that was wedged up there.

GreenEggsAndNichts · 13/05/2012 16:02

MrsDmitri Grin Grin

ChippingInLovesEasterEggs · 13/05/2012 16:05

Stretches out legging clad legs... purring at the comfort level....

Only ever worn out of the house with something long enough or almost long enough to be worn by itself. Arse never on show.

at home, completely different, arse always on show

ChippingInLovesEasterEggs · 13/05/2012 16:07

It doesn't bother me when the young girls do it though, I remember wearing things that were equally revealing or clingy etc we almost all grow out of it Grin

Older women should know better!

RollerCola · 13/05/2012 16:16

Can I mention 'wet-look' leggings here? I can't actually think of a body-type or social situation where these could actually be considered acceptable but lets just say the Monday morning school run probably isn't one of them. Especially not if you're 40.

HillyWallaby · 13/05/2012 16:16

YADNBU. I have seen some absolute shockers. Mostly on very young women and I have to resist the urge to take them aside and give them a bit of sage advice.
