they fuck me up physically. I get zits, wind and the runs.

I cannot sleep during the day so get more and more fucking tired.

DD also hates me working nights. Life with her is difficult at the best of times and anything that makes it worse is best avoided.

I fucking fucking hate nights.

I do nights part time (between 2 and 7(!) per week) 8 hours on my own in a hotel. It is scary sometimes, lonely and demoralising. I have no proper childcare in place until DS2 goes into nursery in August, and I am dead on my feet...Desperately looking for another job.

And yes to the farting/burping/coffee related runs... :(

Nothing sexy or glam about my job!

So OP YADNBU!

I've got my first nightshift tonight and I am dreading looking forward to it. I do hope I can cope with it as I am intending to go on permanent nights September 2013 when DS starts school to save on childcare.

I hope i can get a sleep before i begin the shift 8pm til 8am. I am scared of the 20 mile drive home during rush hour in the morning!

You'll be fine Tupperware. A top tip from a nurse who's been doing them for years is to have a slap up breakfast before your daytime time sleep. Unfortunately I never manage this as I feel so exhausted I just fall into bed.

I tend to get post- nightshift anxiety/comedown in the days after a block of them, so try to be good to myself in the days after Smile
