Haven't tried any on yet, but seen a lovely one online, reasonably priced, even better in the sale. Can return for full refund. Should I, or shouldn't I?!

If you can return it, where is the risk?

LentillyFart · 09/05/2012 18:21

Yes

LentillyFart · 09/05/2012 18:21

No

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 09/05/2012 18:22

If your weight stays pretty consistent I don't see why not!

splashymcsplash · 09/05/2012 18:36

If you are sure you will fit in it and have storage space, then sure.

Flyingwithoutwings · 09/05/2012 18:43

Go for it. Many brides select their dress 12+ months in advance.
Just keep your weight stable Grin

Congratulations btw Smile

bumperella · 09/05/2012 18:49

Only if you post a link to it as I like looking at pretty dresses ...

dexter73 · 09/05/2012 18:58

I wouldn't as it would feel old by the time it got to the wedding and I would want a new dress. I would probably also be fed up with it by the time of the wedding. But if you can return it then it isn't a problem.

here's the link? What do you think? I'm dark-ish blonde with pale skin, 5' 4", size 8. Would it suit?

It's really bonny - I love the lacing up the back. Go for it!

Flyingwithoutwings · 09/05/2012 19:09

Repost the link please - I'm away (using iPhone) so will struggle to copy and paste technology ain't my strong point Grin

scubastevie · 09/05/2012 19:10

Can't see the link. But don't do it - I did exactly this, bought from bhs, loved it for ages, butended up getting another one, Blush they are just not as nice as bridal shop dresses :(

EatsBrainsAndLeaves · 09/05/2012 19:16

As long as you have looked around and preferably tried on other ones to compare it to, then buy it. And congratulations on your wedding

Looks beautiful. But why don't you post in style and beauty? They gave me loads of good advice when i was choosing a dress.

redyam · 09/05/2012 19:26

I know two people that bought their dress more than a year in advance.... And both relationships ended a few months later. Just sayin'.

Flying without wings you can strike through a whole line in one go too now

Op I'm going to go against the grain. The price is good but it's a bit of a generic dress. Whenever I've been wedding dress shopping with friends we have been to pro nuptia or similar where they always have a. Huge sale rail with dresses from around that prive. You may find something really special. You have ages after all!

Flisspaps · 09/05/2012 19:37

I would - and did.

And if that's the dress you like and want then don't worry about whether it's 'generic' or 'finding something special' - if you like it, and are happy it's right and special enough for you and it's in budget, then why spend months traipsing round dress shops in the hope something else you like and can afford turns up?!

sue52 · 09/05/2012 19:37

You can get fantastic stuff in bridal shop sales as Erik says. I'd wait a bit and shop around more.

sonotmumsie · 09/05/2012 19:38

I thought they'd be lots more expensive in a bridal shop?

OP posts:
sue52 · 09/05/2012 19:39

They do tend to slash their prices a fair bit in the sales.

ErikNorseman · 09/05/2012 19:41

Full price they are but they do seem to always have a sale. My friend also found a designer sale in one posh boutique place with lots of dresses half price. She got an incredible dress for about £700. Really extraordinary. I'm not suggesting it's your price range (my wedding dress was £280) but just to know it's not all £1000 upwards! Other friends got theirs in pronuptia both for around £400.

mamalovebird · 09/05/2012 19:43

I did and I'm glad I did. It was off the peg and £150 from Debenhams. I didn't see anything else in between that I wanted more despite scouring bridal shops for something more 'traditional'. If you like it, buy it. One less thing to worry about and a whole year to look at it and get excited :)

KatieScarlett2833 · 09/05/2012 19:45

oooh, purdy dress, I'd buy it.
