"titties"

Yesterday I overheard some chap in the supermarket talking about a woman's titties and that word makes my skin crawl!

aibu?

Not at all if it creeps you out! I find it more amusing than anything!

HexagonalQueenOfTheSummer · 09/05/2012 13:11

I don't like the word either. Especially when people refer to a baby having 'tittie' when it's being breastfed. Eurgh

glastocat · 09/05/2012 13:12

It's not as bad as 'moist.'

mamalovesmojitos · 09/05/2012 13:13

YANBU I hate the word. Also hate the word 'panties'.

maddening · 09/05/2012 13:13

eurgh Hex that's even worse!

or "riddled" - I always think of maggots...

shudder

frownieface · 09/05/2012 13:13

Not as bad as panties

frownieface · 09/05/2012 13:14

xpost

Firawla · 09/05/2012 13:14

yanbu it sounds horrible

Ithinkitsjustme · 09/05/2012 13:15

Do people actually use the word?

Noqontrol · 09/05/2012 13:16

Ewww, yes I hate the word too. Then again dd came home from school recently and asked me to show her my toby jugs. Unfortunately I wasn't quick enough to hide my surprise, so now she keeps saying it over and over to wind me up. Hmm

Noqontrol · 09/05/2012 13:17

Panties, that's just nasty frownieface

titfortat · 09/05/2012 13:17

Can't say I have even heard anyone say titties. But I also don't get why people get so bothered and wound up by words. They are just that, a word which you can choose to use or not.

Voidka · 09/05/2012 13:25

Its a bit 'Carry on Camping' for me.

Dropdeadfred · 09/05/2012 13:28

I hate the word too Op. I also weirdly hate the word 'moist'

ItsAPublicForumWhine · 09/05/2012 13:28

ewww "moist" is an awful word

ShellyBobbs · 09/05/2012 13:32

Hahaha, I think it's pretty funny, but if I heard some random bloke in a supermarket say it then I'd probably imagine him in his sticky arm chair, remote control in one hand and some little shriveled thing in the other. Did he have a 'tache?

maddening · 09/05/2012 13:33

so moist titties are a no no then!

Have heard it a few times - from blokey blokes iyswim and each time I didn't like it but I think I hate it more now I'm a mum and I bf...

shockers · 09/05/2012 13:42

Both 'titties' and 'panties' should only be said in a Scandinavian accent in a kind of Benny Hill type sketch Grin.

Dropdeadfred · 09/05/2012 13:43

I always think of it as something a really old man would say... Don't k ow why.. Just imagine younger blokes to say tits or boobs

GiserableMitt · 09/05/2012 13:49

YANBU. It sounds awful coming from an adult.

I also hate moist. And gusset. I think perhaps it's an association of the two words together.

On the other hand, a word I love is 'indulge'.

ShellyBobbs · 09/05/2012 14:08

I can imagine Eddie Murphy saying it. He did didn't he in something like Beverly Hills Cop?

PatronSaintOfDucks · 09/05/2012 14:10

Can I join with my pet word hates? I've got combinations. I just loath "out and about" (what's the bloody point of "about"?) and "potter about the house". Bleugh.

PatronSaintOfDucks · 09/05/2012 14:12

"Titties" actually don't bother me much. Neither do boobs, norks, etc. Don't like "breasts" though. Too many associations with chickens who are wrong on just too many levels.

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 09/05/2012 14:12

It reminds me of that bar in the film From Dusk Til Dawn. Was it the Titty Twister? Grin
