Listening to LBC now. discussing how 'outrageous' having up to a year off in maternity leave is.

Katie has just pointed out she went back to work within 2 weeks of having a baby. Big fucking whoop. Well done !!

Katie Hopkins, has form for affairs with married men rich boss or hunky shagging in fields after giving the press a tip off going on four weddings or what ever it was called, squeezing out babies quickly from quick marriage to former married man, dumping him and moving on to the next married man!

She is also an alpha woman hating man trapped in a woman's body!

lolaflores · 09/05/2012 10:03

These types are a fav in the media as this is the response they garner from normal women, a frothing fury. It brings nothing useful to the debate about proper childcare for women returning to work (one would hope at a little more sensible speed than 2 weeks) just muddies the water and everyone forgets where they were on the page.
Was she one of those geniuses on The Apprentice? You know, the ones who are so fab, they have to go on telly as no one else in the right mind would employ them?

Metabilis3 · 09/05/2012 10:03

I saw her out running the other week. I've seen her on the station too, a few times. She's just a human being, really. I don't agree at all with her opinions but she isn't a monster.

MarySA · 09/05/2012 10:03

She's an idiiot. It will all end in tears. It always does with those smug types. does that sound too catty.

lolaflores · 09/05/2012 10:03

I can hear her doing a Samantha Brick, it's cos we are jealous old bitches, we envy her cast iron balls and go get em attitude.
AS IF

Voidka · 09/05/2012 10:04

Anyone that has made choices for themselves and then dismiss the choices that anyone else chooses to make as inferior and stupid should be put in the stocks.

Voidka · 09/05/2012 10:05

Yes she was on the apprentice - got to the final and then quit. Iirc it was because of the effect it would have on her family

DogEared · 09/05/2012 10:06

I think she feels insecure and judged about the choices she's made so this is a pre-emptive strike from her. I don't hate her, though I disagree with her strongly. I don't know why she feels the need to judge others. Poor lass.

Chubfuddler · 09/05/2012 10:07

If this is how she has to earn a crust she deserves pity really.

SootySweepandSue · 09/05/2012 10:09

She's trying to make herself into a brand a bit like Nasty Anne Robinson.

CharltonHairstyle · 09/05/2012 10:15

I has to Google her, then I realised it was that unbearable woman from The Apprentice who has a remarkable likeness to either Punch or Judy

EXmrsmascarahead · 09/05/2012 10:20

I needed something to fill 5 mins of my time today, so I visited the Katie Hopkins website. That's 5 mins of my life I will never get back, you live and learn!

MamaMary · 09/05/2012 10:25

She's trying to make a career out of being controversial and unpopular. How soul destroying it must be - though I'm sure she's just in it for the money and couldn't caer less.

Katienana · 09/05/2012 10:29

She's awful. I wonder if there will be any employers listening to the radio about to do job interviews who then won't give a job to a woman of childbearing age because they have been brainwashed by her ignorant views? I think there are a lot of misconceptions around 'generous' maternity packages ruining businesses, for a start businesses can claim back a lot of the costs from the government
www.hmrc.gov.uk/employers/recover-smp.htm

Anything they offer over the statutory is up to them and of course if you don't return after maternity leave they can make you pay it back. Speaking just for me I am much more likely to demonstrate loyalty if there is a generous maternity package. What is to stop me leaving at any time to go to a rival company? Good maternity rights and pay are helpful for business continuity.

bakingaddict · 09/05/2012 10:30

What chubfuddler says is why I feel sorry for her. I go to work but I would be mortified for myself and my children if my income was derived solely from putting down other women and basically being a misogynist in a skirt

I agree with lolaflores till more is done to create universally affordable childcare, women will always be hampered by childcare costs and this ultimately curtails true freedom in choosing to return to work or not but Katie Hopkins, imo, is too thick to see this conundrum for working women and instead bleats on about shortening ML

SavannaandAddisonmommy · 09/05/2012 10:55

She does this all the time. She was on BBC London two weeks ago moaning about women taking time off for little jimmy's school play and how she would rather employ a 30 year old man than a 30 year old woman. It?s the same rubbish coming out of her mouth all the time. I had the misfortune of meeting her in last year when I was at a given a talk at a Business Entrepreneurship event and she was spouting the same rubbish then.

According to her website she 'representing a new face of feminism?. If thats true god help us all

HipHopOpotomus · 09/05/2012 10:57

IGNORE her, ignore ignore ignore.
By starting threads about you you are feeding her!!!!

WhippingGirl · 09/05/2012 11:07

if its any consolation i dont know who she is either and i consider myself almost an expert on those who object the bf he he he

KitCat26 · 09/05/2012 11:42

No idea who she is and a cba to enlighten myself by googling. She sounds nuts though.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 09/05/2012 11:47

I neither like nor dislike her but she made me laugh when she talked of the posters here as "Mumsnutters"... Grin

She has extreme views and quite a low opinion of many sectors of women... a bit like some posters here do actually. It's a bit rich to criticise somebody else for their wayward/maligning behaviour and be guilty of it oneself. 'Hoist by own petard' springs to mind. It comes across as bitchy - and maybe, if not jealous, then perhaps a bit lacking in your own sense of purpose.

Do you really care what she thinks of you? Or come to that, what any other person who doesn't know you thinks of you?

EssexGurl · 09/05/2012 11:53

I am more amazed it has taken OP this long to realise this about Katie Hopkins Grin. Why they give the woman any sort of air time I don't know.

Mosman · 09/05/2012 11:56

She gets paid by the media to perform the pantomime villain. She has school fees to pay, I'd do a lot worse to support my children if I had to so try to look at it that way if you can.

Icelollycraving · 09/05/2012 11:56

I find the post from peanutbutter as grim as Katie Hopkins. Not everyone can be a sahm, not everyone wants to be,not every employer will agree to flexible working.
Using a nursery ensures that the child is cared for by qualified people. Is it better to not be at work so they can do things like, oooh maybe keep a roof over their heads? Angry

skirt · 09/05/2012 12:01

She's paid to say all that twaddle. I bet she doen't believe half of it but she has bills to pay.

Though her name doesn't suit her she is definitely more of a Janice.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 09/05/2012 12:02

People will never agree on that, Icelolly, everybody has their views. Every person should do what's right for their own circumstances and not need the approval - or otherwise - of anybody else whose business it isn't. That's what I think anyway.
