To think a frys cream does not equal a large bag of m&ms.

DH went across to the shop to get us a treat for sat night in. Living the high life indeed.

We always get a treat of equal 'treat value' IYKWIM. One of us would not get a chocolate fudge cake whilst the other got a milkyway, unless that had, of course, been previously agreed (could not see it happening in a month of sundays). Anyway, I said I wanted a frys choc cream. He comes back with the requested bar and a huge bag of peanut m&ms for himself. I hate peanuts.

AIBU to be a little miffed that he has this giant bag to scoff all night and my little chocolate bar can't last long? He can't see my point. I should add this DH goes beserk if I manage to eek out my treats to last longer than him.

Yabu, how odd to measure the equality of "treats", unless you are siblings and under 7.

BreconBeBuggered · 05/05/2012 20:15

YABU.
Husbands should not be encouraged to eat chocolate, even if they've bought it for themselves. Next thing you know he'll be scoffing half your chocolate cream because you put it down for two minutes and he thought you didn't want it any more. Slippery slope.

ledkr · 05/05/2012 20:18

Leave the greedy bastard Grin

I love how some people dont get mn and start telling the op she is childish etc.

Sparklingbrook · 05/05/2012 20:19

It's hilarious isn't it ledkr? Complete sense of humour failure. But this is AIBU so people have to get their digs in. Grin

fryscream · 05/05/2012 20:21

hahaha, I know ledkr. It makes me laugh anyway. There was me thinking it was actually reasonable to post (slightly) tongue in cheek AIBUs. Not tonight it would seem...

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 05/05/2012 20:23

So is he still crunching away on the M&Ms frys?

ebbandflow · 05/05/2012 20:23

Would be worse if you posted this in 'relationships'

fryscream · 05/05/2012 20:28

sparkling He has just this minute opened the offending m&ms and the crunching is irritating me already. I feel like pelting him with them. I am holding off opening my frys cream. I am actually quite full after dinner, so I think I will outlast him easily.

OP posts:
OAM2009 · 05/05/2012 20:29

Oooh, jaquelinehyde, pathetic is a bit harsh!!!

Relationships have to have rules, written and unwritten, in order to function stop you throttling each other OP and her DH have clearly established the rules in which equality is of massive importance....and then DH has stomped all over them.

YADNBU - Frys cream, whilst the delicious work of angels, are small in volume and thus do not equal a large bag of disgusting M&Ms.

If When DH displeases me, he is forced to make all the cups of tea required for the evening without delay or complaint...and I love Brew almost as much as Frys chocolate creams. Perhaps this might help? Grin

OAM2009 · 05/05/2012 20:31

OMG, just read my post back. Have I had sense of humour failure too? Confused

fryscream · 05/05/2012 20:34

No you haven't OAM, your post was spot on!

OP posts:
HecateTrivia · 05/05/2012 20:38

save your revolting frys cream until he's finished his big bag and then break it into tiny bits, sucking each one and making mmmmmmm noises.

PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE tell me what you mean when you say he "goes beserk" if you've still got some of your treat left after he's finished his. I simply HAVE to know!!

fryscream · 05/05/2012 20:49

Well, beserk was maybe a bit of an exaggeration. Sorry! More like he goes "have you got some left? how have you got some left? no way? how did that happen?", followed by a few big sighs. He doesn't really do angry my DH, so saying the above in a bit of a huffy voice is about as threatening as it gets around here.

Still not opened my DELICIOUS frys cream. He is still crunching away.

OP posts:
Annunziata · 05/05/2012 20:53

Why the Frys hate? Frys > M&Ms!!! So YABU, you got the better deal!

ledkr · 05/05/2012 20:59

Damn i have eaten nearly a whole bag od whispa bites whilst reading this,i blame your dh.

OAM2009 · 05/05/2012 21:00

Mmmmmmmmmmmm Fry's Chocolate Cream Grin
Mmmmmmmmm Fry's Peppermint Cream Smile
Mmmm Fry's that weird orangey fruity one that's gone now Hmm

Bleeuurrgghhhhh M&Ms (and the unbelievably creepy talking ones on the adverts) Confused Sad

And another thing, DH could set a speed crisp-eating record, so if we share a bag, I have to remove several large handfuls to my lap or there will be nothing left to share. Equality in treats is enormously important given different eating speeds.

fryscream · 05/05/2012 21:02

I was just telling DH I wish they made giant fry's creams. I love them. Didn't they do a tropical one once that had different flavours in each segment?

Totally agree OAM re eating speeds. Main reason I hate going for tapas with DH.

OP posts:
KatieScarlett2833 · 05/05/2012 21:05

Of course you are correct OP.

OAM2009 · 05/05/2012 21:06

If tapas is bad, for Christ's sake, don't do sushi!!!! We went in one of those plates whizzy round places and the conveyor had virtually stopped by our table! Luckily we were both pd as b*ds very drunk otherwise I would have wept at our £40 meal!!!

I remember the tropical one! Is that the weird orangey one that I'm thinking of? Smile

They sell them in packs of 4 at the supermarket Grin

mamalovesmojitos · 05/05/2012 21:17

Oh I lurve the orange cream ones. Are they still around?

Havingaminutespeace · 05/05/2012 21:22

He asked what you wanted, you said you wanted a Fry's Cream. So he gets you a Fry's Cream, and you moan. Confused
No wonder bloke's think they can never do right!
Just because you wanted a chocolate bar, doesn't mean he can't get a great big feck off bar of chocolate or bag of chocolates.
If you wanted a big bar, you should have said so.
Oh, and you both sound EXACTLY like my 8 and 4 year old, lol!
"He's got a bigger bit than me!!! It s'not FAIR!!" {grin]

fryscream · 05/05/2012 21:29

havingaminutespeace My bloke certainly doesn't think he cannot do anything right. This isn't a bloke thing anyway.

OP posts:
VickityBoo · 05/05/2012 21:36

Lol

I got two aldi choc bars, one dark, one milk. He picked dark. We ate one each.

Easy Grin

VickityBoo · 05/05/2012 21:37

They used to do a fry's choc cream with different flavour sections.

ItWasABoojum · 05/05/2012 21:37

Unless you're actually allergic to peanuts, start in on his M&Ms. If you get a large glass of water you could probably swallow them like pills and not have to taste the nuts. That'll learn him.
