... Aldi would floor Lidl within the first 5 minutes? Grin

I am a big fan of Aldi and I have just made a rare incursion on Lidl... I was very unimpressed: too much stock, too many options badly presented, narrow aisles... The blue and yellow colour scheme is horrid. Hardly anything was tempting although I succumbed to the bars of dark chocolate.

I think they need to take a leaf out of Aldi's look: less is more!!

TBH I think Aldi could take Tesco in a fight as they've got all fat and complacent

RatDesPaquerettes · 02/05/2012 14:18

Oh yes! Aldi would beat Tesco too. I am a bit worried that Tesco would beat Lidl though...

You could have a Battle Royale of all the supermarkets in one ring and I suspect Aldi would be left standing at the end.

Hmm, not sure. I almost bought a retractable dog lead in Lidl yesterday. The only thing that stopped me was not knowing where to get a retractable dog.

Treblesallround · 02/05/2012 14:28

Cunting Sainsbury's would fight dirty though

RatDesPaquerettes · 02/05/2012 14:50

I think Waitrose would die early on. They would display too much fair play.

Grin at Teakozy.

Asda would be in there with a pool ball in a sock.

RatDesPaquerettes · 02/05/2012 15:32

Yes, would not trust Asda one bit.

I could see a game of alliances: Asda and Lidl would be together initially; Tesco would fight alongside Waitrose but would stab the latter in the back at some stage.

@Rat. You have a good nickname.

RatDesPaquerettes · 02/05/2012 15:54

Smile Thank you, Kirsty! I love it so much that I have also bagged it on Twitter.

Waitrose would most definitely win. Waitrose would outwardly be playing but the Marquis of Marketberry's rules but would be sneaking in sly digs when the ref was looking the other way.

SlipperyNipple · 02/05/2012 16:09

Waitrose would have poison on their rapier.

RatDesPaquerettes · 02/05/2012 16:11

No, no, no, worldgonecrazy. Waitrose would get its knees broken early on and Asda would come and kick its head when it is down.

Convict224 · 02/05/2012 16:42

Waitrose would get Asda to do it's dirty work and then instruct its solicitors to take action. Too posh to bash in my opinion.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 02/05/2012 16:44

Is anyone else reminded of The Hunger Games but with Employee of the Month instead of Tributes and the shops as Sectors... Grin my money's on Aldi!

RatDesPaquerettes · 02/05/2012 16:49

The Aldi employee of the month will have slapped the Waitrose one three times before the latter has even realised what is going on a bit like me at the Aldi till.

Aldi will be Katniss or possibly Peeta.

OP posts:
RatDesPaquerettes · 02/05/2012 16:52

Lidl will be Rue, well meaning and sweet but not up to the game!

OP posts:
RatDesPaquerettes · 03/05/2012 17:21

oh no! My champion is going down. A bit of a self-inflicted blow as well: the card transaction processing systems went down today when I was at the Aldi till... and it was heaving as it was a Special Buys day today.

Nobody was frothing at the mouth though, as Aldi customers are all well-behaved! Smile

Always Aldi.

(Not that I am biased because ds2 works for them)

I reckon Tescos would be the real hard nuts. They'd be the scary hair pulling type. No adhering to rules, no concept of fair play. They'd own Sainsbury's whimpering arse.

RedBlanket · 03/05/2012 20:59

Morrisons could take em all because it's northern and 'ard
plus they'll be bribing the judges with Disney cards

NotSureICanCarryOn · 03/05/2012 21:00

Much prefer Lidl tbh....

lol at 'too much choice'!

DrowninginDuplo · 03/05/2012 22:13

I fear m&s would flake out early on, with a note from their mum.
