I spend the day trying to wear her out and ages trying to get her to bed then an hour after she's asleep, I miss her!

AIBU?

No I miss mine too

But she is shiny and new and I suspect this will pass Grin

dementedma · 28/04/2012 22:09

yes. YABU
I take it she's still very young?

AgentZigzag · 28/04/2012 22:09

I take it she's not very old?

It'll wear off given time, don't worry Grin

WorraLiberty · 28/04/2012 22:09

How can you be unreasonable?

Just wind down and have some 'you' time.

Be a person again instead of just a mummy Grin

Kerryblue · 28/04/2012 22:10

YABU

You'll learn Smile

Unless of course she is 18!

I miss mine too but relish the break as well.

pointythings · 28/04/2012 22:10

Until recently I would pop into their rooms on my way to bed about 3 times a week, just to breathe them in. Now it's maybe once a week when I am feeling maudlin.

They are 9 and 11.

Sirzy · 28/04/2012 22:11

As much as I love DS and the great things he does I love my peaceful evenings when the monkey decides to sleep!

Lac365 · 28/04/2012 22:11

Me too!

smellyfeet · 28/04/2012 22:13

Me too.

She turns up in my bedroom in the middle of the night and jumps in. i am trying to encourage her to sleep in her own bed. But miss her when she doesnt turn up!

GodisaDJ · 28/04/2012 22:15

Yanbu, me too.

Dd was in her as of last night, for all of 6 hours then come back to our room as she was teething and kept getting me up anyway.

She's back with us in our room tonight Grin she is only 9 months but I miss her too when she's in bed especially so when in another room to me instead of next to me Smile

mummysmellsofsick · 28/04/2012 22:16

YANBU. Both DH and I miss DS too much when we put him in his cot that's why he sleeps with us. And thank you, I know all about rods and backs so don't start Wink

difficultpickle · 28/04/2012 22:17

How old? If I could there are times I'd happily send ds (7) to bed at 3pm if I could Grin

kittyandthefontanelles · 28/04/2012 22:18

I miss mine too. And she's still in my room!

Thingiebob · 28/04/2012 22:18

I was joking about being unreasonable. I just wondered if anyone else gets this.

My Dd is 2.4 and is a bundle of fun and energy at the moment.

I miss mine when she's asleep and when she's at school. She's nearly 13!

madmouse · 28/04/2012 22:19

I do like my big 4 year old to sleep well and in his own bed. The days when he is randomly awake between 4 and 6, singing and chatting, I struggle with tiredness, but I don't really mind tucking him back in (he can't get out of bed due to disability) and telling him a little story (always the same, it involves counting up to 10 and down again, always twice) sharing a little giggle and then going back to my own bed.

And in the morning when dh is sleepy/grumpy and not very cuddly I love getting a still sleepy warm ds into our bed for a good old snuggle.

curiousgeorgie · 28/04/2012 22:20

My DD is 18 months and I totally agree.... In fact, I'm sitting here now missing her feeling a bit sorry for myself :p

LostInWales · 28/04/2012 22:22

I miss mine like mad when they are at school , I get proper excited that I will see them at around 3 pm. DS1 is 12 Blush

bucketbetty · 28/04/2012 22:23

My baby will be 10 next week. He's with his dad tonight. I still miss him when he's away and when he's in bed. I don't want him to grow up and not need me. Sad

Pippinintherain · 28/04/2012 22:23

I don't miss them as such.

On days like today, when they have been dreadfully behaved, I do go look at them asleep, all innocent and delicious, and forgive them. Until it all starts again in the morning.

Smugfearnleyshittingstool · 28/04/2012 22:25

Mine is 2.4 too, and in her own bed, in our room, for the first time tonight. She is such a star, and loves her big girl bed, but I'm hoping she wakes up for some booby and cuddles at some point tonight too! She has been dry through the night for two weeks too, so I'm so proud of her

BornSicky · 28/04/2012 22:26

aw, now i'm feeling all sad.

I have a very wriggly 14 month old who is in his own room, but we co-slept until he was one and started climbing out of bed.

and now I miss him being there.

it's the same most times he naps or sleeps. if it's longer than 1.5 hours i start missing him.

he is a whirlwind at the moment having just learnt to walk and totally exhausting, but hilarious.

BulletProofMum · 28/04/2012 22:28

I most definitely don't miss them in the evening. Like others I trybtonget them to sleep in their own beds but miss them for a snuggle when none of them show up in the middle of the night (but do love the uninterrupted sleep).

My favourite time is chatting to them in bed in the morning. I am always late to work. My boys don't come so often now and head straight for the telly :(
