To those who are saying it's a 'secret' clique etc.
The one thing that has never been pointed out, for those who aren't aware of how Facebook works...if the group was open and searchable, then all of us who are 'us' on FB (ie real name, not MN name) will then have our RL friends and family able to read everything we put on there.
For example, last night there was a thread about words that sound rude, but aren't. (eg 'Crevice' or 'Flange') amused me for a good hour that did - am sure there are similar threads that pop up on here from time to time (mainly Fri/Sat?)
I would not, in any way, want my RL FB friends to read me being so stupid/silly/childish/rude - MN is a way for me to be daft with no repercussions. The FB group is an extension of that.
So, to summarise. The group has to be 'closed' (ie not searchable and only available by being added by a current group member) so that real life people don't have access to it - ie my Dad, Uncles, brother, work colleagues.
If you want to be added, PM me - come and see that it is just an extension of Chat, not as busy and certainly not the reason for perceived quietness on the MN site.
If you don't 'do' FB or don't like FB, that's fine too. There is no shit stirring going on over there though. You can un-hoik your bosoms and de-clutch your pearls
