I too have morphed back to the 70's

SarahStratton · 24/04/2012 11:50

I'm here, just not as much as my laptop has deaded. I've had to brave RL. :(

OnTheBottomWithAWomansWeekly · 24/04/2012 11:54

Can MN in work but not FB, big warning msg if I try.

(also as am new ish have the "fear" of not being cool enough to be allowed join - like school - sure I used to DO my homework, big lickarse that I was...)

So actually it's much cooler here (rolls up waistband of skirt, writes band names on canvas bag, tries to smoke and burns left eyebrow off)
pretending desperately not to care

LadyBeagleEyes · 24/04/2012 11:54

I thought you were getting a new laptop Stratters?

fedupofnamechanging · 24/04/2012 11:59

I'm here too. CBA with fb.

SarahStratton · 24/04/2012 11:59

I should LBE, but I could spend the money on so many things for the house. I'm trying to see if I can live with using DD's desktop whilst she's at school (disadvantage: in kitchen, don't like it), or my iPhone (disadvantage: slooow to type, runs out of juice)

beachyhead · 24/04/2012 12:03

I'm here. Can't work out how to be two people on FB. For that matter, can't work out how to be two people on here as have NEVER name changed....Blush

AnyFucker · 24/04/2012 12:33

beachy, you need to set up another email address to have another FB account

to name change on here, go to "MyMumsnet" (the tabs at the top) and then "registration details" and type in a new name, click "save"

gettingagrip · 24/04/2012 12:58

Gotta lol at the FB groups. What AF said about a load of MNers talking about themselves on there instead of on here.

There is a FB group of which I have been made aware - I assume it is invitation only as an MNer who has been invited made me aware of said group, which is not searchable to the hoi-polloi. Although this group apparently chat about a subject about which I sometimes post on MN, I have not been invited.

I assume I have not been invited as I once had a PM from one of the group attacking me for pulling her up on a post she made defending abusers. My MN spy sent me some posts from this group and LOLOL! The group is talking about their experiences at the hands of narcissists, and their posts are ALL ABOUT THEM - as in ALL ABOUT ME ME ME. Talk about ironic, as someone sang.

So actually it appears that you are welcome in the group as long as there is no dissent - sounds a bit like my marriage to a narc!

So the upshot is - I am still here - for what it's worth!

LeBOF · 24/04/2012 13:02

I am reading Improving Literature.

LadyBeagleEyes · 24/04/2012 13:14

My reason for joining Fb was this.
There are certain posters on MN who I feel I click with.
I genuinely like them, but I don't know what they look like or much about them except words on a screen.
They make me laugh, they make me engage, and I want to get to know them.
That is all. Why does anybody have a problem with that?
I love MN, I'd never leave, and will always post on an interesting (to me) subject whether I 'know' them or not.

CocoLePew · 24/04/2012 13:16

Guess what? I won a book from MN! I'm very excited because I have never won anything before.

I might post this on every thread Hmm

gettingagrip · 24/04/2012 13:24

Congrats coco!

Lady - methinks that thou does protest too much. I don't see anyone having a problem with the exodus - but Moldies does spring to mind.

LadyBeagleEyes · 24/04/2012 13:33

No exodus here getting
I joined well after the moldies, but I do think you can strike up genuine friendships on here.
Would never make me leave though, the next poster might be new and amazing (IMO)
MN evolves all the time.
