...to want to find a brand of tampon which doesn't fall out..???

Am fed up of using tampons which work their way down, particularly if I dare to have even a quick pee. Repeatedly find them about to 'emerge' and so get through twice as many as I actually should need to.

Have had one ventouse delivery. Have admittedly also had a number of internals since then, but surely I can't be that stretched can I???

I always used lilets but now use sainsburys own. Much cheaper and they are the same. Perhaps not pushing them in enough? Or using wrong size? Good luck with it!

Moooncuuup!! Sung to the tune of the moonpig advert. They are excellent

kittyandthefontanelles · 19/04/2012 06:22

Although due to cerazette I don't have periods.

valiumredhead · 19/04/2012 08:23

Why do you have to take tampons out to pee Confused

I'd get through a box a day if I did that - I pee every half hour Grin

sheeplikessleep · 19/04/2012 08:40

Thanks for starting this thread OP, I too have the same problem.
I use Tampax, but after a few hours I can literally push it out, as it's so close to the entrance by then (and it is always half bent for some reason now!).
I'm definitely going to try LiLets, as not keen on idea of mooncup myself .

sheeplikessleep · 19/04/2012 08:41

I too had ventouse delivery for DS1.

Mrskbpw · 19/04/2012 11:15

See, this is why I love MN. I have this problem - it's not something I'd discuss with my friends - and now I know others have it too!

I had two c-sections so Lord only knows what's happened to my bits, but I can no longer use normal Tampax -so uncomfortable. I also find Lilets applicator the best, but they are really hard to find.

If I see them I buy a few boxes. Tampax Pearl are a good alternative but are a million pounds and I don't like the plastic applicator.

DueinSeptember · 19/04/2012 11:49

I think 'normal' tampax may have changed something in the last few years. This happened to me, my sister and her friend at around the same time.

Both my sister and I had ELCS and I think her friend had not had a child at that point.

I found that it would move slightly down and be at a point where it would be uncomfortable. Not coming out, but at a point where I would feel it.

I found that tampax pearl were ok, I think Moxie stayed put and I found that Aldi/Morrisons own brand were fine too.

Prior to having DD1, I used a Mooncup and found it fine, took a couple of cycles to get it spot on, but was happy with it. I then threw it out after she was born as I hadn't used it for 10 months and went back to tampons.
May buy one again after DC2 is born.

BustleInYourHedgerow · 19/04/2012 11:54

Because I would just pee all over them otherwise valium. Pee soaked tampons = not very nice at all.

valiumredhead · 19/04/2012 12:17

Nope, am still confused, how do you pee on a tampon? Do you mean it comes out with the force of the wee?

mummiekins · 19/04/2012 13:39

Bustle you must have the shortest fanjo in history Grin
Definitely change brands - that's such a waste of money

oceanstwo · 19/04/2012 14:02

Mine end up covered in wee too.. Think it goes on the thread and then gets sucked up. That or there's a hole between my vagina and uretha...

I always peed on tampons! Glad it wasn't just me.

ginnybag · 19/04/2012 14:14

Er, I seem to have a 'kink' up there somewhere. Always have had, pre and post baby. I have to (thinks of best way to put it...) rock the applicator to one side and then 'pop' it past something or the tampon just slides out.

I can also only put them in one way - i.e. I have to stand in exactly the right position.

I whatever-number-we're-up-to-rd the moon cup. Much better - I used mine for the first time on a transatlantic flight. Just brill!

NoMoreInsomnia12 · 19/04/2012 14:16

I think vaginas just change shape after a baby has been through them. Mine feels exactly the same in terms of tightness - have always done pf exercises, can tighten, grip and release in same way as pre-children - but is a different shape - used to be smooth, now a bit, er not. Imagine a concertina that gets overextended and doesn't go back in quite the same way Blush

I don't think I have a problem with pf, no sexual problems, no incontinence, I had two straightforward deliveries with no interventions and I find tampons now slip out or are just uncomfortable. I use pads now and find them fine.

ContinentalKat · 19/04/2012 14:37

Are you going abroad any time soon? Try to get o.b. flexia tampons, they have "wings" and stay put.
