i am probably bu for posting a thread about a thread but I have woke up this morning to find a number of threads from posters moaning about attitudes on MN. The Internet is a large place and if you don't like it you can always go elsewhere.

Starwisher · 18/04/2012 13:41

On the money there hotpink

SarahStratton · 18/04/2012 13:42

I think puds has a fair point.

pud1 · 18/04/2012 13:43

I maybe did not get my point across very well. I just thought that MN can be a great place to chat and ask for advise as well as to ask for opinions but over the last few weeks there have been slot of posters complaining that they are unhappy with others opinion and rubbishing MN as a whole.

My opening post may have been a bit strange. I can only out this down to a rough night with an Ill dog.

Thanks everlong. Hope I explained myself better second time round. I have used MN for over 5 years and maybe it's just changing

OP posts:
Starwisher · 18/04/2012 14:08

Maybe if a lot of people are saying the same thing...

I left last year after coming on now and again for about 6 years. Unsubscribed and everything because I got so fed up with a particular bunch of bitches MNetters who were flaming everyone, getting offended by everything, and accusing loads of people of being trolls. It just got so horrible that I didn't want to be involved with it anymore. Then I had a bit of a wibble in RL and came back as it was the only place I could think of to get some advice.

The (long-winded) point I'm making is that MN can be a fantastic resource and a nice bit of escapism but the (very very small) group of people who march about (symbolically speaking) as though they own the place really, really get on my tits.

But they are only a minority. Everyone else is luverly!

usualsuspect · 18/04/2012 16:49

I agree with the OP , MN has changed a lot over the last year .

I'm thinking of buggering off for a bit TBh.

keysinthefridge · 18/04/2012 17:05

YABU I think new posters who are shocked at some MN behaviour help the rest of us to see it with fresh eyes. It hasn't always been like this, like others have said it has changed. It has been - and I'm sure can still be - a supportive place to be. Everyone has a right to come and post on here, and IMHO the attitude of "this is what we're like, if you don't like it naff off" is a little bit narrowminded.

everlong Yes I have, more than once, hence my comments.

gafhyb · 18/04/2012 17:44

I love this site and have been on it for a few years, but I still feel entitled to moan about the way some people behave without being told to piss off.

I've only just read a baffling thread where everyone gave the newbie OP a sound kicking Confused

Starwisher · 18/04/2012 17:58

Anairofhope

But what if they keep posting on the same threads as you after you have?

gafhyb · 18/04/2012 18:02

everlong - you mean me?

I should have been clearer (ironically). I meant, understanding that maybe someone has posted in the heat of the moment and said things that are excessively emotional. We're all sitting here perfectly calmly, and an emotional poster comes on, there every word is picked to pieces, they feel even worse, and it all escalates.
