To expect DD to shower and change having slept in her clothes all night

I despair, not only did she decide to go to bed fully dressed but she's planning on going out of the door looking like she's just slept in her clothes (because she has, obviously)

Febreze her and send her on her way.

insancerre · 18/04/2012 08:05
Grin teenagers, don't you just love 'em
supernannyisace · 18/04/2012 08:08

Ha ha ha.

We had this v thing at the weekend.

I just go all shouty - that usually makes them do what I want... Grin

Chopstheduck · 18/04/2012 08:09

I wouldn't let her go out of the door like it.

nightswimmer · 18/04/2012 08:10

As a child I used to go to sleep in my clothes sometimes to save myself the bother of dressing in the morning. It seemed like a brilliant idea. I stopped doing this as a teenager though. How old is she?

AgentProvocateur · 18/04/2012 08:10

I used to go to bed with a full face of makeup every night as a teenager and just touch up in the morning. I think I may have slept in my school uniform in occasion too.

takingiteasy · 18/04/2012 08:11

My 6 year old boy just jumped out of bed fully dressed - to save time apparantly.

He looks ok though so we're going with it!

gingerfrizz · 18/04/2012 08:11

I despair!

gingerfrizz · 18/04/2012 08:11

She's 15 nightswimmer

OP posts:
insancerre · 18/04/2012 08:11

how old is she?

insancerre · 18/04/2012 08:12

x-posts could ahve guessed though, DD is 15. I feel your pain

startail · 18/04/2012 08:13

Clean blouse and knickers, or I would get shouty.

No one here gets up early enough to shower in the morning.

nightswimmer · 18/04/2012 08:13

Hmm at 15 probably not the best idea. So you're being very reasonable insisting she shower

Northernlurker · 18/04/2012 08:14

She'll learn! At least you know that she can sleep safely in her school tie Grin

Tw1gl3t · 18/04/2012 08:15

Meh.
Her friends will Tell her she's stinky. She won't do it again. probably

Gumby · 18/04/2012 08:16

And I thought all 15 year old girls were constantly preening, applying makeup Katie price style!

gingerfrizz · 18/04/2012 08:18

She's just sprayed herself with whatever she sprays herself with, over her clothes! Yeah you're right Northernlurker, except something strange seems to have happened to it!

OP posts:
insancerre · 18/04/2012 08:21

gumby, 15 year olds are strange creatures. If you are just about to nip to tesco for some supplies, she will say 'just a minute, I'll come' then spend about 3 hours applying makeup, straightening hair and changing outfits. For a ten minute walk round the shop.

However, for school it seems that holey tights and the just fallen out of bed fully clothed look is required.
All of her clothes will be under the bed or on the floor, dirty and she will raid your sock drawer at every opportunit and your knickers too.

MrsKittyFane · 18/04/2012 09:05

Tell her she looks a mess crumpled and doesn't smell great but if she's happy with that, say fine, and send her on her way.

tinkertitonk · 18/04/2012 10:19

For me this is not something to get shouty over. If she's not pregnant and has no ASBOs let it go.

sooperdooper · 18/04/2012 10:37

Nah, let her go, if she's stinkly she'll soon get told about it at school and won't do it again, pick your arguments wisely!

IloveJudgeJudy · 18/04/2012 12:06

Insancerre - do you have my DD? That's exactly what she's like. I thought she was unique Grin. Quite relieved to think that she isn't. She's still pretty skanky, though, sometimes and very secretive (very unlike her 17 yo DB).

IloveJudgeJudy, glad to hear that DD is normal Grin
She is very unlike her DB who is very clean, keeps his room tidy and showers very day
DD's room is like a stinking cess-pit of plates, food, and dirty clothes. Yesterday she was sat on the sofa with her duvet when she found a knife inside the duvet. No wonder we can never find any cutlery.

GoblersKnob · 18/04/2012 12:20

Does nobody remember being a teenager? Even in my early twenties I sometimes used to go to work in the clothes I had slept (or not sleptWink) in.
