That my DS insists on making eye contact with me when he shits, every time he stares at me almost deranged then starts straining! He is only 5 months so not as bad as if he was 5 lol

His poos are normal btw so there is nothing medically wrong!

Crying with laughter here.

SofaKing · 10/04/2012 13:28

My nephew used to walk up to you when he was pooing and hold your hand, and squeezed it while grunting out his poos. It was horrendous. He is 19 and tbh I still feel traumatised. Thank god he stopped before he got any bigger!

Whitershadeofpale · 10/04/2012 13:30

My nephew is 2.5 and calls me and my mum into the bathroom everytime he goes to 'watch me pooing'.

F3rgie · 10/04/2012 13:40

Oh dear so this could only just be the beginning?!

SofaKing do you ever remind him of this? Might make you fel better to torment him a little! :o

Quite normal I'm afraid! DS1 was the same, but DS2 is the opposite and goes off into a corner to do it. DS1 is now 4 and likes privacy when he goes to the loo (thank goodness!).

Mishy1234 · 10/04/2012 13:43

DS2 is still in nappies I might add, not just pooing in the corner of the room!

MamaMaiasaura · 10/04/2012 13:43

Dd also 5 months does this. Goes red/purple straining with blazing blue angry eyes staring at me.

Tis only the start as ds's did same and the whole going to sit with them in loo. Aged 4 ds2 stopping that a bit. thank goodness

FondleWithCare · 10/04/2012 14:08

Grin Mine does this too, like she's expecting me to do something about it.

mythical · 10/04/2012 14:10

My sister has a funny attitude too...since she was very little she needed the house to be absolutely quiet or she couldn't poo...you could hear her yelling from the bathroom "TURN THE TV DOWN I AM TRYING TO POO HERE!!" she still does it... she's 18.

plutocrap · 10/04/2012 14:48

Both of mine fix my gaze; DS (4) in particular even looks slightly scared!

exexe · 10/04/2012 14:54

Mine used to do this too!
Maybe they're a bit confused about whats going on and just want reassurance?

TheSockPuppet · 10/04/2012 15:01

My ds is 5 now and insists on leaving the bathroom door wide open so anyone walking past gets to see him straining on the pan! He's only just started flushing the toilet when he's finished too, much to my relief Grin

Birnamwood · 10/04/2012 17:06

We had a builder come in to do a quote for some work once, ds1 2.5 at the time, took himself off to the loo, did his business, then came to the room we were in and grabbed the builder by the hand and insisted that he come and inspect the poo Blush

Luckily the builder was a friend and has 4dc's so found it quite normal :)

CoffeeDog · 10/04/2012 19:19

My twins go for poos together for moral support .... they then wave goodbye to the poo before flushing it ;-)

Thetokengirl · 10/04/2012 19:22

Quite normal. My 3y5m ( having been reading pedants corner Blush) has to hold either mine or DHs hand whilst pooing!

foxeeroxee · 10/04/2012 19:32

Ds1 used to that but the funniest was a couple of month ago
A window salesman came to the door and when i went to answer,ds1 pushed me out of the way to announce 'i did big smelly poo on the toilet!!' Bloke replied 'erm, brilliant!' haha
I highly recommend it as a way of getting rid of door to door salespeople! Grin

nomoreminibreaks · 10/04/2012 19:40

When I first read this I thought it said DH!! That would be pretty weird.

My DS (1) comes to hold on to my chair while I'm eating my breakfast to do his morning poo, looking into my eyes while his eyes start to water a bit with that partial smile straining look. I kind of feel like it's something I shouldn't be witnessing iykwim.

ilovehills · 10/04/2012 19:42

foxeeroxee - that's really funny! what a great reply by the window salesman.

I think staring at you whilst pooing at five months is fine, if he is still doing this at 18 years old then you may have a problem!

puds11 · 10/04/2012 19:43

Just burst out laughing at that nomore imagine if your DH did that Grin

foxeeroxee · 10/04/2012 19:44

Yes ilovehills i was impressed by the reply too but it put him off his sales patter because he quickly buggered off!!

LaurieFairyCake · 10/04/2012 19:45

Threads like this make me glad I've never had young children.......or gone out with someone like the poo troll or indeed anyone who wanted to do me in the shitter Grin

NoWayNoHow · 10/04/2012 19:45

OP, I initially misread that as DH and was about to suggest that you re-post in Relationships under "The freakiest thing you're ever going to read on here, MNers". Grin Grin Grin

Realised I was mistaken the second I hit the line about him being 5 months old, but that was a scary 1.36 seconds of my life!!!

When dd aged 5.8 does lots of poo, we call it a toilet full of turds...
Sometimes she squeezes my hand to make the poo come out...
When she wore nappies and did large explosive leaking up her back poo, dp and I called it a krapatoa....
